Pairing: Haytham Kenway ft Connor
Warning: none?
Note: so, I tweaked the request a little if you don't mind.

Y/n pressed your ear against the wooden door, listening to a heated argument between her father an a somewhat familiar voice.

The argument stopped and footsteps approached the door. You quickly scrambled away.

"Y/n," Haytham sighed. "Eavesdropping again?"

Y/n cheekily grinned at her father but he wasn't having it.

"Room. Now." The grin dropped and Y/n pouted.

"No."

Haytham arched a brow at her in surprise. Normally she would do what she's told to do. Ugh. She's spending too much time with Hickey.

"Hello." Haytham didn't expect her to go through his legs to greet his....acquaintance.

Connor looked down at the small child standing in front of him. She's certainly inherited quite a lot from Haytham.

"Y/n....I-" Haytham pinched the bridge of his nose with a sigh. "Y/n, meet your older brother."

Y/n happily skipped after her older brother's broad figure, eager to learn more about him despite her father's many warnings.

She managed to stop an argument from heating up. Perhaps she will be some use in the future arguments.

And fate decided just that. Constant arguing and a lot of sass will be used. However, both father and son shut up once Y/n stepped into the room.

"Perhaps you are our good luck charm," Haytham muttered, tucking a sleepy Y/n into bed. "Or your calming presence."

Haytham kissed her forehead and got up from the bed. One hand on the doorknob, Haytham knew Connor was in the room.

"You can say goodnight to her if you wish."

Connor moved away from the shadows. He stared at his father before moving over to kiss Y/n's forehead too. She smiled in her sleep, hand reaching to grasp Connor's tunic.

The quirks of Connor's lips went up and he unfortunately pried her fingers off before disappearing into the night.

"Maybe. Just maybe," Haytham thought. "Connor will let her live."

I wrote this when I'm very tired and my eyes are starting to blur so that's probably why I changed the request a lot more than I intended to. I'll rewrite this when I'm sober? No, no. Not sober. What was the word? Ah, who cares. You get the idea.
