"Evie?"

"Not now, Jacob."

"But, Evie-"

"I said not not now!"

"But-"

"Jacob!"

Jacob stuck his tongue out at his twin before leaving the arena. Everyone was training for the day under the careful watch it Malik but something caught Jacob's eye.

A pair of e/c eyes watching from the tree lines.

Jacob approached the figure and the figure quickly took off running in the opposite direction. Jacob quickly chased after the figure, ignoring Evie's shouting.

After some time, Jacob realized the figure happened to be a little girl and she's hella fast.

The girl stumbled, hitting the ground with a thump and it gave Jacob the chance to finally catch up with her.

"Easy, lass," said Jacob, helping the girl up.

The first thing Jacob noticed about the girl is her messy and disheveled state. Bruises marked her arms and face along with cuts; old and new.

"What the bloody hell caused this?" Jacob caught the girl's chin, tilting it to the side. "Evie!"

"Most of the wounds are fresh," said Malik.

Jacob, after struggling for so long, finally brought the girl back to the assassins.

Aveline and Evie finished patching the girl up.

"We already tried to get her to speak," said Aveline. "She refuses."

"Wonderful," Altair muttered.

"She's traumatized," Evie snapped. "Something caused her to have PTSD."

"E-vie?"

Evie looked up from the book she was reading to stare at Speedy (a nickname Jacob jokingly gave the girl).

"E-vie?" Speedy repeated again.

"Evie!"

Evie dropped the book and scooped Speedy up instead.

"Finally trusting us," Evie grinned. "Don't tell Jacob this, I told him that you'd say my name first instead of him. Looks like Jacob owes me *fifty pounds."

"She didn't," Jacob pouted.

"She did," Evie replied smugly.

"Why?" Jacob whined. "Speedy!"

"Speedy isn't even her real name," said Altair. "Why continue to call her that?"

"She hasn't told us her name, novice," said Malik. "This is the first step to it. Give her time."

"You also owe me fifty pounds, Jacob."

"Oh, shut up, Evie."

Footnote: fifty pounds= 64.46 United States dollars.
