Pairing: Edward Kenway
Warning: ?
Note: so, I've realized that someone had requested for Shay back in May (that rhymed!). I didn't mean to ignore the request, I either never got a notification for it or I forgot about it and I feel bad.

"Mummy, are we here yet?" Y/n mumbled, peering over the side of the ship.

"Not yet, darling," said Caroline, tugging Y/n away from the edge. "Don't look over there again, okay? I don't want you falling in."

Y/n playfully stuck her tongue out at her mother and Caroline shook her head with a smile.

"Come on. Back downstairs, sweetheart."

Caroline got a letter from Edward several months ago telling her about the Great Inagua (Did I spell that right?). So, she decided to move there with their seven-year-old daughter, Y/n.

"Here we, Mrs. Kenway," said a crew member. "We're here."

Y/n stepped off the ship, eagerly looking around her new surroundings.

"I'm going to find Daddy!" (DON'T YOU DARE MAKE THE LENNY FACE. I DON'T CARE IF IT'S A JOKE. D O N T )

Caroline sighed, watching Y/n run on ahead.

"Don't go too far!"

"I won't!"

Y/n giggled, eagerly going on ahead. She's practically bouncing around with energy and excitement.

"Daddy, Daddy," Y/n sang to herself. "I'm going to meet Daddy."

Finding a large house in the back, Y/n went through it.

"Daddy!"

Edward, hunched over a table, looked up to see a little girl.

"Edward, what is this?" A woman asked him, approaching Edward.

And that's when Caroline walked in.

"Caroline, it's not what you think-"

"NOT WHAT I THINK?!" Caroline repeated. "EDWARD JAMES KENWAY, YOUR DAUGHTER AND I MOVED HERE FOR YOUR OWN SAKE AND I FIND YOU WHORING YOURSELF TO A NO GOOD WOMAN!"

Edward didn't have a chance before Caroline hauled Y/n out of the house.

"Mummy, what's going on? Why is Daddy with that woman?" Y/n asked. "Mummy-?"

"Not now, Y/n." Her mother snapped.

Getting back on the ship again, the ship set sail back for England again.

"Dammit, Caroline," Edward muttered.

Standing at the wheel of the Jackdaw, Edward piloted the Jackdaw towards a hidden island.

"She'll be fine, Edward," said Anne. "You need to keep your head on. Just focus on getting them out first before you start swinging and blasting away."

It wasn't long until the Templars attacked and taken Caroline and Y/n as hostage. It didn't take Edward long to find where they were taken either.

As soon as the Jackdaw was anchored, the fight began.

While waiting, Y/n sat in a cell alone. Streaks of dirt marred her cheeks and forehead, a small cut on the bridge of her nose, and shackles around her ankles.

"Caroline?!"

Y/n looked up and shuffled towards the bars.

"Daddy?"

Edward skidded around the corner and saw Y/n.

"There you are, sweetheart."

Edward broke the lock and the shackles on Y/n before hauling her out of the cell.

"Take her back to the Jackdaw," said Edward, handing Y/n to Anne. "I'm going to find Caroline."

Anne nodded and hurried outside.

After going around the place, a guard finally told Edward where Caroline was being held.

"Caroline."

Edward broke the lock on the cell and entered. He gathered his wife up in his arms and cradled her in his arms.

"Let's get you out of her-"

"Edward, stop."

"No, no. I have to get you out of here-"

"Edward, it's too late."

Edward stubbornly refused to listen to Caroline, getting back up to his feet and carried her out.

"Edward....I'm not going to make it."

"Don't say that."

"You know it as much as I do, Edward."

Finally coming to a stop, Edward glanced down at Caroline.

"I forgive you. For everything that you've done. All I ask of you is to take care of Y/n. She needs you more than anything now. Promise me."

"I-"

"Edward."

"You have my word, Caroline. You have my word."

Caroline smiled, resting her head on Edward's shoulder.

"Good."

So, I tweaked the request a bit. It's not much of a big change but it's still there.

As I mentioned before, whoever is making the lenny face or whatever it is, stop. A child is calling her/him/their father that and I don't care if it's a joke or not. I will delete every single comment that has that face.

I've also noticed that there are a couple of comments in a language I do not understand. I can't tell if the language is in Spanish, Italian, or Portuguese. I'm very sorry that I haven't replied back to those comments, it's because I don't want to accidentally say something rude.
