Pairing: Thomas Hickey
Warning: some violence? I mean, come on, this is Assassin's Creed we're talking about.
Notes: so, first time I'm writing for Hickey. I've never been a big fan of him though. Just a heads up, I can't write cockney accents very well so I will be getting that wrong.

"Where did I-?" Thomas muttered.

He heard shuffling and turned around to see a child. She's clutching his pouch. She took off running down the street with Thomas at her heels.

"Oi, you little brat!"

Ducking and skidding into alleyways, Thomas finally caught up with her. Grabbing the scruff of her shirt, Thomas dragged her inside a random house and dumping her on the table.

"Think it's funny stealin' money?" Thomas asked with a scowl.

It didn't take long for her to start bawling her eyes out.

"Um...kid?"

Hearing her crying get louder, Thomas huffed.

"Oi. Stop yer cryin'. It ain't doing you no good."

Her wails got louder and Thomas knew her cries will start attracting people.

Grabbing her by the wrist, Thomas pulled her out of the house and somewhere more secluded.

By then, her cries have gotten quieter. Every once in a while, she'd sniffle.

Finally coming to a stop, Thomas turned to face her again.

"Shit."

His hat is gone and so is his pouch of coins.

"Tell me again, how did you meet this girl?" William asked, arching a brow at Thomas

"Tell me again, how did you meet this girl?" William asked, arching a brow at Thomas.

"Stole my pouch and ran off with it. Caught her once and she took off again when I had my back on her." Thomas muttered.

"Wonderful," said Haytham. "And you say the girl is a split image of you?" Thomas nodded.

"Yeah. Surprised she managed to snag me like that too."

"Perhaps your time as a drunk would be a reason why," said Haytham. "There. I see her entering an alleyway."

It wasn't long until she started running again. She was very fast for her age. Ducking and sliding and squeezing through gaps of fences, running down an alleyway. It's like she knew every alleyway she entered.

It wasn't until Haytham caught her that the chase came to an end. She's putting up a fight too. Swinging fists and feet at Haytham.

"You've fathered a fighter, Thomas," said Haytham, holding her for Thomas. "Well? Take her off my hands. She's your child."

Thomas took her from Haytham and pulled her away from his associates.

Thomas took his hat and pouch back from her first before sitting her down to explain the situation she's in.

After the explanation, Thomas learned her name was Y/n. Her mother died to the pox when she was young and she's been a street rat ever since.

"Well then, Thomas," said Haytham.

He smacked the back of Thomas' head.

"That was for not being with her and her mother." Thomas glared at Haytham, rubbing the back of his head.

Another smack.

"And that is for having us chase after throughout New York."

It didn't take long for Y/n to learn her father's trouble making antics

It didn't take long for Y/n to learn her father's trouble making antics. After all, he is her father and only role model.

"THOMAS HICKEY! DO NOT TEACH YOUR DAUGHTER HOW TO SWEAR!"
