Chapter 19 - Another Abduction In Brentwood

Chapter 19 – Nick O’Riley

Katie gave her cell phone a weird look, then put her phone back into her pocket, “Um, Sam, I’m sorry to say this, but I have to go.”

Disappointment flashed quickly across Sam’s face as Katie spoke; I felt bad for the guy…but as Katie said nothing else while leaving the room—I knew something was up.

***Katie’s POV***

To be honest, I’m not really sure how I’m supposed to be feeling right now; I feel confused, scared, angry, and everything else in between. I walked quickly out of Sam’s room and into the hospital’s main entrance.

“Katie,” Nick’s voice suddenly boomed in the room.

I turned a bit to look at him, “what?”

“Where are you going?” Nick asked, shoving his hands in the pockets of his black hoodie.

I shook my head but I had no choice but to lie in a situation like this, “I just have some errands to run for my mom right now, bye.”

And without a second look I continued to quickly walk out of the hospital; I wasn’t exactly sure where I was walking to, but I knew that my house was five minutes away if I walked; however I decided against it.

I sighed and finally knew where I wanted to go.

I stood in front of the quiet house, nothing moved. It looked like it was frozen in time, like it was lost almost. I could feel tears sitting on my cheeks and I could feel the wind pushing my hair back behind my shoulders.

I sighed and felt more tears leave my eyes, whispering, “where are you, Jessica?”

Then all of a sudden, it became way to quiet: the wind stopped, there were no animals barking or howling, it was just—quiet—eerily quiet.

“Wouldn’t you like to know,” a familiar voice spoke from the front porch of the house.

I looked up towards the porch and literally saw my worst nightmare—Jack Montez.

“I know you took her,” I said quietly, “you bastard.”

“Call me what you like, Kaitlin,” god, I hated when people used my full name, “but nothing or no one stopped the reality of what happened in dear old Brentwood.”

“Shut up,” I replied, angrily.

Jack made a ‘tsk’ sound from in between his teeth, stepping down from the porch, “getting angry are we?”

“I said shut up,” I stated as I watched Jack walk around the drive way in a small circle.

All of sudden he just stopped walking and stared right at me, “no tell me Katie…how’s Nick?”

My heart all of a sudden stopped, “What did you do to him?”

Jack just shook his head, “I did nothing to him, I was just asking how the guy was.”

“Why do you care?”

“Why, you ask?” he stated formally, “because…if it isn’t clear enough already, I’ve been following you and Nick around for a while and lets just say…I know you guys aren’t exactly on ‘speaking terms’”

I rolled my eyes, “what the hell is wrong with you?!” I shouted.

Jack stopped walking in the small circle in the drive way, then slowly started making his way towards me, “Nothing is wrong with me, Katie…question is, what’s wrong with you? You seem to be a little delusional.”

“Seriously?” I raised an eyebrow, “Delusional? I’m not even close to delusional.”

He shrugged his shoulders; before I could even react, Jack pounced from where he stood and I was pinned the nearest tree with his face all up in mine, “shut up.”

I breathed heavily and quickly as I struggled to find ground beneath me—no use—I was father up the tree than I thought I was, “let me go!” I shouted.

Jack’s grip on me tightened causing me to cringe, “you listen to me Katie…if you don’t do exactly as I say—I will kill her.” The way he said “her” made me feel sick out of the blue, and if I threw up all over Jack then that’s what is going to happen.

“What the hell do you want?” I replied.

Jack made another ‘tsk’ sound from in-between his teeth and then snickered, “I want nothing from you…”

I gave Jack a weird and frightened look but was unfortunately…all ears.

“…for now.”

Then, it was dark.

Authors Note: So...there's the stupid chapter...i was tired, so yeah, its bad.
