I didn't sleep that night. I had killed Raios and Humbert, no doubt an Integrity Knight would come and get me and Eugeo. Our supervisor told us that our escort was coming. I nodded and went to see him. I saw a figure, black hair, dressed in black. I didn't need to see his face. It was him, it was Kirito. I picked up my pace. "Kirito!!" I shouted and Eugeo glanced at me like I was crazy but I ignored it. The Knight turned to look at me. "How do you know my name, Elite Disciple Alice? I don't recall meeting you before." I froze and whimpered. "Kirito... you don't recognize me?" He then looked at me with a sigh. "Yes and no. I've seen your face before but your name is foreign to me. And I don't know where I've seen your face nor who wore it." He told me. I felt like my heart was being crushed all over again. I reached out to touch Kirito's cheek. He then gently, but firmly, grabbed my arm and moved it away from his face. "Maybe you knew someone who looked like me, perhaps with the same name. Regardless, I don't know you, so would you be so kind as to not touch me?" He asked me. His voice, something about it made my heart melt. It was masculine but not overly manly. He also seemed to have decent manners. I then sighed and put my hands together. 'I will make you remember me, Kirito.' I thought. Eugeo had remained quiet and was looking down. He then looked at me and Eugeo. "My apologies, I haven't introduced myself yet. My name is Kirito Synthesis Thirty. I am the Integrity Knight who watches over the Capital." He then stood up straight and looked at us with a much harder face. "Disciple Eugeo, Disciple Alice. You have been charged with breaking the Taboo Index. I shall take you into custody, question you, and execute you." He told us and part of me wanted to break down right there but I couldn't. I had to stay strong for Eugeo. So I went with it and we were arrested, chained to his dragon however he collected our swords before leaving. It was then that I noticed he was carrying FOUR swords, one sword on his side, one on his back, and mine and Eugeo's two swords in his hands. We were thrown into a cell after we were taken to the Cathedral.
As I laid in the cell, facing away from Eugeo, I cried in silence. Eventually crying myself to sleep. However as I slept, I saw Kirito, he was fighting. However, it didn't look like he was in Human Empire or Dark Territory, and his fighting style looked nearly identical to my own. However, as I wondered what was going on that Kirito burnt to ash and in its place the Integrity Knight stood. Then his voice came from all directions. "That man no longer recalls his past, though we are the same, my soul no longer resides in him. Alice, the Administrator is evil. Evil! She takes the memories of the Knights and makes them into puppets." I then looked up torwards the night sky of my dream. "Kirito, is this a dream? What's going on?" As I said that, I felt an arm on my shoulder again. "Though you sleep, this is no dream. Simply an illusion but I am speaking to you. You're strong, Alice, strong enough to save this world. Please, get the other Kirito's help and convince him of the Administrator's tyranny. Kill the Administrator. I'll show you the way, I'll light the path. You will know what you must do when the time comes. Stay cool, Alice." With that the dreamscape began to crack and shatter causing me to register that Eugeo was speaking. I opened my eyes and turned to face him in the cell. "Alice, what do you think happened to Kirito?" He asked me, I sat up and sighed. "The Administrator took his memories..." I said as I looked down. Eugeo clenched his fist, "We have nothing to break these chains..." I then looked at the chains. "Or maybe we do... Yeah we do! Eugeo, we have a pair of chains." I said happily and jumped up. "Eugeo, copy my movements." He did as told and we hit the chains against each other. When they broke, we were slammed into the wall. I smiled and stood up. "Alright, once we leave this cell, there's no going back. No time to hesitate. If you're not ready to fight the Church, you should stay here." He then looked at me. "To keep my promise, to keep my word to Selka and you, to get Kirito back..." he clenched his fist and stood up. "Disobeying the Church isn't even a question, I'll even raise my sword against them if I must." He said and looked at me with a determination that I was all too familiar with. It was the determination of myself and Kirito back when we were younger.
