Chapter 62- Reconstruction

The Blue Rose Sword lit up, and Eugeo's world which had been mostly black for so long finally came into focus. "Now, Kirito..." He whispered, trailing off as he walked torwards his friend. Eugeo then knelt down and touched Kirito who lit up and the world went dark for Eugeo. 

When the blonde man looked around, he saw a mess. It was a city.... but it was in ruins. Overgrown by nature, floating rocks and damage or destroyed buildings. And it was made out of floating islands. Slowly, Eugeo realized what this was. It was Kirito's mind, or perhaps his soul. And it was in shambles. Eugeo looked at his hand and realized that he wasn't see through, he'd have to physically look around and navigate the maze of broken memories. 

Eugeo took a step forward, the ground shaking beneath him. He decided to tip-toe his way around, eventually he found a building and entered it. Inside of the building, he saw a picture... of Alice and himself as kids, with Kirito nowhere in sight. Eugeo carefully picked up the picture, only for it to dissolve. "Who am I? Who is... Kirito? What would 'Kirito' do?" He heard his friends voice echo before the floor came out from under him. Eugeo hit the ground with a thud, groaning in pain and annoyance. It seemed that his friends mind came complete with a pain sensation. 

Slowly, he rose to his feet and walked forward as lights flickered and sparked with what he assumed to be lightning. Eventually, he opened a door and beyond it was a man, a corpse... once more, Eugeo heard his friend speak as the body vanished. "What am I? Why was he dead?" Kirito's voice echoed as the lights went out. Eugeo then walked through the door, and when he looked back, it was gone. Sighing, Eugeo used a Sacred Art to illuminate the dark path. After minutes of searching, he found a door and when he opened it, he stepped out of it and was facing the door he came in through. He opened it once again and saw the outside, he stepped through and emerged in a forest. 

The forest reminded him of Rulid and as Eugeo walked down a path, he saw a lake and picked up his pace and looked across the lake. He spotted a... cabin. Slowly, he walked torwards it and stepped inside. Within it, he saw numerous pieces of furniture and spotted a girl. "Hello, what's your name, little one?" Eugeo asked her, hoping it would help him piece his friend's mind back together. "Hello, mister, where is daddy?" The black haired girl asked him. "I'm sorry, I don't know where your father is. What about your mother?" He asked. "Mommy is in bed, back there!" She said happily, Eugeo smiled at her, not wanting to find out what happened when she was upset, and got up. He walked in the direction the child pointed and saw a girl. She had long blue hair, Eugeo approached her. "Hey, miss? Do you know where your kid's father is?"

The girl looked to him. "Her father? You mean... uhh... I don't remember his name... I think it was.... uhh.... something Kirigaya?" The Bluenette said causing Eugeo to sigh. "Alright..." Finding her response not to be helpful, he walked out of the room. This time, he was in a completely different place. But he saw a.... weird thing of jewelry. He picked it up and it glowed blue. He heard someone, a girl, cry out Kirito's name but he never gave a response. Eugeo then noticed an object, it was one of his friend's sword. It was Excalibur. He lifted it and looked into it, deciding to bring it with him. He then opened the door and walked out. 

The Swordsman found himself in a street. He then walked around, noticing shops littered around, reminding him of Centoria. Eventually, as he walked around, he found a building with an open door. He stepped inside and found another sword, this one was the Dark Repulser. He picked it up and briefly saw a pink haired girl, wielding a hammer. She was walking out of the backroom. She said, "Can I help you?" And in response, he heard. "I don't know... what would 'Kirito' say?" Kirito's voice echoed. Eugeo sighed and walked back to open up the door but it was locked! Eugeo turned his head and saw the other door. He walked back to it and opened it, emerging into the shop again... Eugeo scowled and walked to the door, trying to open it again. This time, it worked and he stepped out into the ruined city he found himself in. Now, it was nightime out and Eugeo saw a light on a higher island. He approached the island but found no way to reach it. Just then, a chilling wind blew by him and a bridge of ice formed.
