Chapter 33- War is Here

Bercouli had flown around on his dragon and layed out a web of Time-slashes using the Time-Splitting Sword the day before the war had started. Regardless, it was now night and the Knights were leading their units with Alice riding Amayori in the skies above. The Gate Crumbled to the ground before her. The Goblins and Giants came charging in while Alice had to watch. And so, Alice's war began the day her 'husband's' ended. November 7th. 

'It is the one memory I have left of my past. I cannot even recall when it was, or who. Though you are long gone, I will protect the world we shared. This, I swear.' Deusolbert thought, gripping his bow while grabbing arrows from his quiver. "Enhance Armament!" The Confragration Bow's Fire engulfed him. "I am Deusolbert Synthesis Seven! Whosoever stands before shall be burnt to ashes!" He declared as he bagan to fire the arrows of his bow, destroying massive swaths of his goblin foes with each shot.

Meanwhile Fanatio spotted her target. "Enhance Armament! Pierce him, Light of Heaven!" She fired off a ray of energy, piercing one giant but missing her intended target. The Chief of the Giants realized that he was being hunted, damaging his ego which caused his Fluctlight to glitch and start breaking down. He began to scream about killing and murdering humans, eventually going berserk and attacking his own people to reach Fanatio. Fanatio found herself unable to move. 

Linel and Fizel watched. "It's started, huh?" Fizel pondered. "It has." Linel responded. "It looks like Uncle Deusolbert is doing his best." Fizel commented. "The vice-commander seems to be doing well, too." Linel chimed in. "But...." Fizel trailed off. "The left flank doesn't look so good, does it?" Linel replied.  "The first unit's Eldrie is definitely skilled, but as a Knight, he's still a novice." Fizel mused. "And behind him, there's Renly, who isn't the most reliable." Linel stated. "The Supply Corps is behind the left flank, isn't it?" Fizel questioned. "Yeah, it is. I hear Uncle Kirito is also there." Linel answered. The two girls looked at each other mischievously and snuck off, heading to see the Black Knight. Partially out of curiosity as to why he wasn't fighting, but also out of concern for him.

Eldrie had been blindsided, the goblins had used devices to release smoke and charged past his unit. "We have to warn Sir. Renly in the second unit behind us know what's happening!" Eldrie stated and had one of his men go to warn the second unit however Renly was nowhere to be seen. Renly had fled to the Supply Corps while Deusolbert continued to incinerate the advancing beasts, raining holy fire upon the goblins. Fanatio, however, wasn't doing so well. She had been paralyzed by the Giant's Incarnate power. However, a Knight yelled out "Lady Fanatio" and blocked the Giant's maul with it's sword. "Dakira?" Fanatio questioned. Dakira's sword broken first, then her arms, after that she headbutted the hammerhead- holding it back. Her helmet soon shattered, her legs also broke and her ankles were shattered. Dakira continued to hold her ground, however her skull fractured in multiple places, shards of bone flying out of the back and sides of her skull causing her to bleed badly. With less than a fourth of her life remaining, Dakira used all her willpower and wishes throuth her Incarnate ability to engulf herself in a blue flame. She conjured a sphere of energy which bursted open and blew the giant back, Dakira had saved Fanatio but at the cost of nearly all of her life. 

Fanatio was no longer paralyzed and ran to her apprentice's side. "Dakira!" She cried out, "Don't die!"  Her broken and beaten apprentice extended her hand to her mentor, wiping the tears from the elder woman's eyes. "Lady... Fanatio... " Dakira whispered, "I've always... adored you... and shall.... for.... ever......" Dakira's eyes closed as a tear rolled down her cheek, her body going limp. "We shall peotect you, Lady Fanatio!" The three remaining Whirling Blades said in unison, charging at the Giant who was easily able to hold them off.  "I shall avenge you...." Fanatio whispered as she turned to face the Giant chief. "I SWEAR!" She promised with renewed confidence and courage. She rose to her feat, her Heaven Piercing Blade rising from the ground as she extended torwards the heavens above. A mighty Incarnate blade erected from the hilt of the blade, increasing the Divine Sword's length exponentially. The same blue energy that Dakira had summoned to defend Fanatio, would now be used to avenge her. The Giant leaped at the Knight who remained unfazed, shouting "Kill human!!!" Fanatio didn't even flinch, keeping her eyes on her target. "Your grave awaits you!" She announced as she moved the mighty blade of blue light torwards the giant. She both melted and cut his warhammer before doing the same to him, splitting her foe in two. Destroying him in an instant as she split the surface of the earth along the length of the blade. Everyone was in shocked by the display. The Giant's were terrified while the humans were in awe of her power. The blue light then faded from the battlefield as the extension of the Heaven Piercing Blade dissipated. "First Unit, Center, advance! Push the enemy back!" Fanatio ordered. 

Deusolbert continued to burn his foes. 'So this is what war is.' He thought, 'How long has it been since the battle began?' He wasn't sure how long it had continued on, he was expecting an order to retreat at some point however it never came. He then fired the last arrow in quiver, forced to draw his sword, he was able to kill individual goblins without worry. Unfortunately for the old Knight, he was fighting an army and his sword wasn't a divine object. He was soon tackled to the ground, however Golorosso charged in, saving the Knight. Deusolbert watched as the younger man was easily overpowered by the goblin chief. The goblin went to kill the man, enraging Deusolbert who summoned the flames of his bow. Melting the goblins holding onto him as he then took his sword, putting the hilt against the bowstring as he drew back. "COMETH FLAMES!" Deusolbert bellowed as he prepared to fire his true final arrow, his sword. The goblin chief turned to face Deusolbert, horrified by the Knight who was literally burning with rage. "BURN TO ASHES!!!" He released the string and incinerated dozens if not hundreds of goblins, chief among them. 

Alice P.O.V

I watched as the Knights faught. So far, they only things flying were ashes and Amayori. No other dragons were in the sky and nor minions were around. I had been overlooking the battle up to now. "I shall do what I must..." I whispered and closed my eye, extending my hands. I began to draw in the Sacred Power, seeing Fanatio's plan through. 'Kirito, I do this for you.' I thought as I allowed the world around me to fade away. I had to do this, for the sake of Kirito and Selka.
