Chapter 41- Heartless Choice

I awoke, early in the morning, and began to search for food that I could give to Kirito. As I walked, I allowed my mind to wonder. I thought about Kirito, I hoped, I prayed that he would share my feelings when he woke up. Regardless, I had to care for him now. I returned to the tent and got Kirito up, I sat him in his chair and started to feed him. "You're looking healthier today, Kirito, and you're eating more." I smiled at him, I heard Asuna in the background. "That's good news..." she  said as she stretched and walked over behind me. Then we suddenly heard the horns go off. "Kirito, I'm sorry but we have to go. I'll have Royne and Tiese look after you." I said as I frantically put my armor on, Asuna doing the same. We then headed outside and found Bercouli looking out across the chasm Asuna made. 

"I'll be damned, that Vector has some bold strategies in mind. He's taking a risk, it's gonna cost him big." Bercouli said prompting me to look out at the chasm with the lens. I noticed the Dark Knights and Pugilists trying to cross the chasm which angered me. We moved to mount some horses and charged in. Asuna, Bercouli, and myself cut down the Dark Knights and Pugilists while Renly severed the ropes with his Divine object. 

Dark-red colored Knights suddenly appeared with armors resembling the Dark Knights. They were fighting the Dark Knights and Pugilists. Asuna tried to warp the landscape and failed. I stopped her. "You must stop. Let us handle this, stay here and rest a bit." I told her. "No, I can't. I just realized who those red Knights are. They're not from here, they're from my world." Asuna said. I scoffed. "That may be but they are just a bloodthirsty mob flailing their swords, no matter how great their numbers, there is nothing to fear." I said calmly. "She's right, relax little lady. Let us Knights take a crack at them." Bercouli chimed in. After a few moments, Asuna stood up. "Thank you, be careful." She said. 

Bercouli unsheathed his sword and raised it to the sky. "TROOPS! I want a tight formation, we'll bust through their ranks!" Bercouli announced, the lesser soldiers following his command. The Knights, Asuna, and myself were all able to cut through the Red Knights with ease. I had next to zero difficulty cutting them down to size, my foes were untrained and had weak authority levels with inferior armor and had no divine objects. They were Dark Knights without any training, something that was of no difficulty for me. In the distance, I noticed Asuna forming a bridge across the chasm. However, knowing that the Red Knights attacked the Pugilists, I simply assumed a truce had been made until the red knights were all eliminated. 

The longer I faught, the more enraged I became at how indifferent my foes were. In my frenzy, I beheaded several of them at once and discharged thermal arrows at them to incinerate a large number of them. I ran torwards I vantage point but I was soon caught by a dragon. When I looked up, I saw someone. "Enhance Arma-" he used some sort of Sacred Art or spell of some kind and everything turned black.
