Chapter 64- Awaken

I know the logic of this chapter is a bit messy, and I know that Kirito's thought process will seem scrabbled. But that's on purpose. Just a fair warning.

"Kirito..." That was what he heard as he stirred, groaning tiredly. "What? It was a dream?" He wondered. He remembered reaching out for a girl, someone called Asuna, but now... he was alone, in a Junior High classroom. He'd imagined everything... Sword Art Online, ALO, Gun Gale Online, Death Gun.... Asuna, Sinon, Lizbeth... he had imagined them too...  even Sachi. As he heard the clock tick away, he looked out of the window. It seemed fairly late. "Guess I'll head home..." He thought as he got up and left the classroom. But as he walked down the empty halls, he felt like something was calling out his name. 'It's like... it's like there's something I need to do right away.' He thought to himself, having no clue what it was he needed to do or who was calling for him, he continued walking.

How long he walked, he didn't know. But he saw a guy he knew from the SAO beta, but found himself unable to approach the man. It always happened. He always felt an invisible hand hold him back from people he knew, as if they were complete strangers. Sometimes it even happened with his own family, and his precious little sister, Suguha. As he walked to the train station, he passed up a blonde... she looked so familiar, so beautiful... flawlessly so, as if she was meticulously and painstakingly crafted and sculpted to look as beautiful as possible. Yet, he found himself unable to turn his head to look back at her and ask for a name. 

Once again, he continued walking. Upon reaching the train, he waited for his stop and got off. At the station, he passed up a large screen that was advertising Sword Art Online's upcoming release. And as he neared his home, he heard a girl call his name which caused him to pause. He looked around and saw an alleyway. Peering into it, he saw something he almost didn't believe. His eyes widened in disbelief as he looked at the girl. It was her, one of the girls from the dream. "Sachi!" He exclaimed as he looked down the long alleyway and he ran torwards her. It looked like they were looking into the trap... that meant she could be in danger! Dream or not, he wasn't going to watch her die again!

Now, standing a short distance away from his guild, his clothing felt weird. He looked at his hands and realized that it was a dream. He was still dreaming after all. As he heard one of the cats' excited cry, he looked forward and his eyes widened. They were about to open the chest... wait, the chest! What if he really was in SAO and daydreamed everything else? No, no no! He had to stop them! He broke out into sprint and ran torwards his guild, shouting "Don't! Stop! Don't!" He exclaimed, distraught. But he was too late, they opened the chest!

The mobs instantly spawned in as the alarm blared. He was paralyzed as it played out like his dream, all he could was watch as they were quickly slaughtered and he ran to Sachi, he needed to save her! But, he couldn't reach her in time! "It's not your fault..." he heard her say as her HP hit zero and he dropped to the ground. He started to pant and hyperventilate as he sweat, trying to calm himself down enough to make sense of what was happening. But before he could, he heard it... 

"You were a beater." Kirito looked up, seeing the guild's leader... calling him a beater for playing the beta. "You never had any right to get involved with us!" The man said, causing Kirito to be forced to watch as he fell to his death. Kirito screamed in abject misery and torment as he gripped his head, looking down. He had no idea what was happening, he didn't understand why this was happening or if if was a dream. Was it a nightmare? Was it real?! He didn't know, he didn't want to know! He didn't want to remember any more of the dream or experience anymore of the vision, he didn't know which it was and it didn't matter! He started sobbing as his brain felt like it was being ripped apart, his heart and lungs felt like they were being squeezed and constricted.
