Hannah walked home from the park.

Her hand hovered over the handle of the front door of her house.

"It's only 10," Hannah murmured.

She didn't want to go home yet, so she went to the hospital to check on her dad.

"Thanks for the ride," Hannah thanked Arlene as she slammed the car door shut.

"No problem. I wanted to check on your dad, too, anyway," Arlene smiled.

The two girls walked to the main doors of Arches Hospital. Warm air blasted their faces as the huge sliding doors opened.

"Hannah, Arlene," the receptionist behind the desk smiled at them.

Hannah waved and dragged Arlene over. "Hi, Samuel!"

Samuel told the girls the latest news about Hannah's mom without even needing to be told.

"Your mom is in pretty stable condition right now. She's been doing good at the moment, I've heard." Samuel informed them.

The receptionist beside Samuel nudged his side. "Hey, Sammy," she said. "Isn't there a 'doctor-patient confidential'?"

Samuel rolled his eyes at her. "The father told me everything. Relax."

Samuel focused his attention on Hannah again. "Speaking of fathers," he said, "you should check on your own."

"Same floor?" Hannah asked.

"As always," Samuel replied.

Hannah nodded to him and Arlene as she walked off to her father. Arlene said that she'd rather stay, and check on him later.

Samuel was a friend of Hannah. A good one, too. Their first encounter hadn't been pleasant, however. There was a lot of screaming and...socks.

But they're on good terms now. Yes, sometimes Hannah thinks it's pretty awkward because Samuel's like, 24, and really hot, but she's gotten over the fact. Plus, she didn't need anymore hot guys ruining her life.

Hannah grimaced as she immediately thought of Sehun.

Hannah peeked inside the room, and quietly tapped on the door. It weakly swung open soon after.

"Hey, Ham," her father smiled tiredly at her.

Hannah surged forward and embraced him. Before he could ask why she was here, Hannah said,

"I should check on you and mom more often."

Her dad shook his head and pinched Hannah's cheek. "No, Ham. Just focus on yourself and your studies."

"Dad! No! Mom needs me, and you need me too!" Hannah said angrily. "It sucks knowing that you're not there for your mom."

Mr. Smith sighed and hugged Hannah. "I know. I'm sorry."

Hannah hugged her dad back and asked, "Can I see her?"

Her dad stepped aside and let her in.

"Hey, Hammie," her mother said when she saw her.

"Mom," Hannah whispered. She carefully gave her mom a hug.

"Felix," her mother addressed Mr. Smith, "She should visit me more often. I'm getting tired of your face."

Her dad shook his head. "You can still insult me, Nina." He kissed her hand softly.

Hannah laughed at their exchange. She had always loved her parent's relationship, and hoped that some day she'll have one just like theirs.

Hannah filled her parents in on the latest school news. Hannah had straight As and all that kind of stuff.

"Good job, Hammie," her mother smiled.

"But how are you?" Hannah asked her mom and then her dad.

"I'm fine. Don't worry about me, I'm just glad you decided to visit," her mom waved her concerns away. "Your dad, on the other hand, looks awful. He needs some sleep."

"You should go home and rest," her mom suggested.

"Never. I'm not walking out of here until you're well enough to walk out right beside me," her dad said. Then he paused and added, "Or until visiting hours are over."

Hannah and her mom laughed. It was a beautiful noise: laughter.

"Oh, Felix. I love you."
"I love you too, Nina."
"I love both of you."
"We love you more, Hannah."

Hannah stayed with them and talked about the past. When they decided drive to the beach, but got lost so they went to an amusement park instead. When Hannah lost her first tooth and swallowed it. When Lin brought a puppy home without anyone's knowledge.

They talked about the present. How Felix's work was and how long they're allowing him to be on leave. How Nina's coworkers are always bringing her presents. How Hannah's History project is coming along.

And they talked about the future. Places they wanted to visit when this was all over. What college Hannah was thinking of attending. If Hannah would occasionally drop by at the nursing home when her parents were old (they were joking, of course, about being in nursing homes).

In the end, Hannah thought that it was a day well spent with her parents. Her dad would keep to his word about not leaving until visiting hours were over.

"Bye, guys. I love you! Get some sleep, both of you!" Hannah called out to them.

They said they would and waved goodbye.

Arlene was still talking to Samuel when Hannah got back.

"Yeah, but think about it! It'll be Walking Dead everywhere!"
"So we'll all be prepared."

Hannah nudged Arlene. "What is this about?"

"Zombies," Everyone around them replied.

"They've been at it since you left," the same receptionist from before told her.

Hannah laughed. "Okay, well come on, Arlene. Samuel needs to get back to work."

"Alright," Arlene pouted.

They waved goodbye and walked to the car.

"How are they?" Arlene asked Hannah as she started the car.

"Good. They're both...amazing," Hannah grinned.

Arlene grinned along with her. "Great. I'm starved, wanna get Chipotle?"

"Hell yeah, you're paying."
"I'll pay half."
"Fine."
