"So," Sehun began slowly.

Hannah stopped typing on her MacBook and looked up at him, expectantly. "Yeah?"

"Why weren't you at school today? I was looking for you."

This made Hannah's heart leap. "He was concerned about me?" She thought dumbly.

Sehun waved his hand in Hannah's face. "Hello?" He laughed.

Hannah blinked twice and then gave a short laugh.

"Sorry," she apologized, "I was sick."

"Sick?" Sehun raised an eyebrow, "you seem fine to me."

Hannah blew air, irritated, "Well, I wasn't, okay. I had awful cramps and a major headache."

The headache part was true, actually. Not the whole truth, but the truth.

Sehun frowned at her. "You're lying."

"Am not! I had a headache and could barely move!" Hannah argued.

"Oh, really? But you felt well enough to watch Mean Girls?" Sehun contradicted.

Hannah yanked her head back. She couldn't form a proper sentence.

Sehun rolled his eyes and jerked his chin to the TV. Hannah's eyes landed on the TV screen and found Mean Girls paused on the Halloween party scene.

Hannah's cheeks flushed a bright red color. "Nice one, doofus," Hannah sneered to herself.

"You're such a hypocrite, you know that, right?" Sehun shook his head.

"Shut up," Hannah bit back.

They worked in silence for a couple of minutes after Hannah turned the TV off. Then Sehun broke the silence again.

He cleared his throat.

"God, you're so hot, Oh Sehun," Hannah groaned silently to herself.

"HANNAH. STOP."

"Hey Hannah," Sehun began quietly, "When you attacked me with that pan...was that pure idiocy or...?"

Hannah grimaced. She knew she couldn't avoid the matter any sooner, but how could she tell him?

Hannah didn't answer and Sehun didn't steer the conversation away from the topic.

"Um, well," Hannah muttered nervously. She rubbed her arm and looked at everything but Sehun. "It's a long story."

"I'm willing to listen."
"It's...really long."
"That's what she said, but seriously, I'll listen, Hannah."
"Okay, you're disgusting."
"Stop avoiding the answer! Tell me! Please?"

Hannah looked up and was greeted with Sehun's curious eyes. He looked so...innocent. Like a cute, but mischievous child.

She sighed and gave up. "5 years ago, when I was 11, my family got robbed. It was a quiet night, peaceful. Well, until the robbers came. They...they were ruthless. And violent. They pounded on the door, just like you did, until my dad woke up to open it. Once he did, they jumped him and tied him up after knocking him out. I remember standing at the top of the stair case, watching in fear stricken horror.

"My mother came out of the bedroom when she heard the commotion. When she saw what was going on, she immediately grabbed me to lock me safely back into my room, but someone stopped her.

"It was a burly man whose face was covered with a ski mask. But," Hannah paused, her breathing shaky. She willed herself to continue.

"I'll never forget his eyes. Pale gray eyes are supposed to look almost lifeless, right? But his...they were filled with so much hatred. Honestly, he looked insane. He yanked my mom back by her hair and started punching her. I clearly recall throwing myself on top of him, screaming for him to stop. He was too strong for me, though. It only took him one swift swipe of his arm to knock me off of his back.

"So there I lay, propped up uselessly against the wall, watching my mom get beat. God knows what inhumane acts they were doing to my father downstairs. I couldn't see very well, because my eyes were filled with so much tears, but I could hear. I heard them yelling at someone to...," Hannah faltered. She couldn't say this part. She just couldn't.

But she felt an odd desire to share it with Sehun, so she didn't stop there.

"I heard them yelling at Lin to stand up and to move quickly out the door. I heard the shrieks and cries of my mom. I screamed, myself."

Sehun bit his lip. "Who's Lin?"

Hannah looked at him with extremely sad eyes. "My little brother."

"They took him, Sehun. They took my little brother away from me. I loved him so much. I haven't seen him since," Hannah finished, her voice bitter.

Sehun stared at Hannah with shock.

"Oh my...oh my God. Wow, I'm...I'm so sorry," Sehun stammered for words.

"Don't be. He's still alive. He's still out there," Hannah said, struggling to keep her voice even.

Sehun didn't respond to that.

He stood up, abruptly, and walked over to Hannah. He wrapped his arms around her and hugged her close. It seemed as if he had no intentions of letting go.

And Hannah didn't want him to.

Hannah felt so safe when he hugged her; when he was around in general. Sehun felt so good to Hannah.

They stood there silently, embracing each other.

"Hannah, I-" Sehun started to say with intensity to his tone, but whatever he was going to say was interrupted with a loud crash from behind the front door.

"What is the pan doing out here? Hannah? Hannah, it's Mal. Are you alright?" A very familiar voice called.

Sehun smiled slightly. "Is that your aunt?"

Hannah swore under her breath. "Yes, and she can't know you're here."
