Hannah stepped inside the Oh's bathroom and shut the door, locking it. She nervously braided her hair to the side. "The uglier I am," she murmured, "the better."
So then, she wet some toilet paper and wiped whatever mascara would come off. It all came off quickly. She pulled at her braid, making strands of hair fall out of its formation.
She sat down on the closed toilet seat and pulled out her phone to call her aunt.
"Hello?" Her aunt answered.
"Auntie! Hi!" Hannah said cheerfully. No matter what situation Hannah was in, she never wanted to make her aunt worry. Her aunt had enough worry and pain burdened in her heart; Hannah didn't want to be another.
"Hannah! I was wondering when you'd call! Arlene told me that you were at a friend's house working on a project."
Hannah instantly smiled. Thank you, Arlene, she thought. "Yes, I am."
"Okay, when are you finished?"
"We just finished, actually. They want me to eat dinner with them, so I'll be home soon."
"That's kind of them. Well, tell me about your friend when you get home!"
"Yeah, alright. Bye!"
"Bye, I love you."
Hannah hung up and slid her phone back in her back pocket. She opened the door, only to find Sehun waiting for her.
"Took you long enough," he rolled his eyes, "I hope you flushed your dump."
Hannah's cheeks flush a shade of crimson. "I called my aunt, you jerk!"
Sehun just chuckled. "I know. I heard. Do you work on your complexion every time you're on the phone?"
"What do you mean?"
"You look nice. Wow, you did that just for me?"
"How do I look nice? I just took most of my makeup off!"
Sehun looked at Hannah and raised his eyebrows. "I guess I like you better without makeup. Hurry up, Mom's getting worried."
Then he left.
Hannah checked her heartbeat; it was beating rapidly.
"Can you not," she muttered to her chest.
Then, she descended down the stairs. Once she walked in the dining room, Mrs. Oh instantly sat her down in front of a tall man.
"Did you call you aunt, my dear?" The man asked Hannah in a deep and kind voice.
Hannah nodded. "Yes, I did. Thank you for having me for dinner."
Mrs. Oh smiled. "It's our pleasure, right honey?"
The man nodded, smiling.
"So he must be Mr. Oh," Hannah said silently.
Sehun sat next to Hannah and Mrs. Oh sat next to Mr. Oh. They had a nice conversation. The food was amazing; Mrs. Oh was truly a good cook.
Mr. Oh teased Sehun about his first dance competition, making Sehun turn bright red.
Hannah laughed. "I saw your poster! It's cool that you dance, Sehun."
Sehun quirked his lips. "Thanks. I could teach you sometime."
"Oh, God, I'm awful at dancing. Don't even try," Hannah laughed again.
Mr. and Mrs. Oh secretly exchanged a smile. Hannah caught it in the corner of her eye.
The happy chatter continued even after everyone had finished eating.
"Come on," Sehun finally said, "I'll drive you home."
Hannah nodded, rubbing her eyes. "Yeah, it's pretty late. Sorry for staying so long."
"No, no! You're welcome anytime, sweetheart," Mrs. Oh quickly reassured her.
Hannah smiled and bid her goodbyes.
Once outside, Hannah discovered that it was cold. She tried to cover her shivering up.
Sehun rolled his eyes and took his jacket off. He placed it around Hannah's shoulders, surprising her.
"It's okay, I don't need it," she insisted.
Sehun shook his head, slightly smiling, "I can practically hear your teeth chattering."
So Hannah kept the jacket. It was very warm. She was reminded how warm Sehun's body had been when he hugged her. And how nice his touch felt...
Hannah bit her tongue, clearing her thoughts.
The car ride was silent and awkward. Hannah kept thinking back to Sehun and her's little episode earlier and Sehun tried to find a conversation starter.
All too quickly, they arrived at Hannah's apartment. Sehun didn't open the door for Hannah this time, which was fine with her. Sehun did walk her to her door, though.
Hannah unlocked the door. "Thanks for the ride, good night," she said, not sure if she wanted the day to be over.
Sehun nodded. "Good night."
Hannah walked inside. Sehun then grabbed her hand.
Hannah looked as surprised as Sehun.
"Um...good night. Do you want me to...never mind," Sehun said, not meeting her eye.
"Alright. Well, erm, drive safely, okay? See you tomorrow," Hannah squeaked.
And reluctantly, Sehun let go and gently shut the door for Hannah.
Hannah pressed her back against the door and slid down to the floor. She placed her clammy hands on the cold wooden floors and leaned her head back. Little did she know, Sehun had done the same.
