Song: Piggy by Nine Inch Nails

April 28

Eddie Kaspbrak. A kid not a lot of people like to hang around. Most people think he's off. Everyone says he gives off weird vibes.

The odd thing about this is that Eddie is unbelievably nice. However he's almost like a zombie. He's always dragging through the day and hardly feels a thing. Sometimes he wishes he had friends, but most times he doesn't even think about it.

Today is different, though. Today he's angry. The entire day at school he tried to meet new people, but everyone just averted their eyes and acted as if he didn't exist. He'd be lying if he said it didn't hurt.

These kids are vile. They're cruel. They have no idea what goes on through Eddie's head, and yet here they sit unbothered by their mean actions and behavior. Eddie's had enough. He pushes his desk to the side, knocking it into some girl he doesn't know the name of.

He stays in the bathroom for the rest of that class. No one comes to check. He's glad for that. He might do something he regrets. The boy does go to next period. Eddie dries his eyes and carries on as normal with the same small smile.

Whispers. There's so much whispering. Is it worse than normal? All eyes seem to be on him. Eddie squeezes his eyes, gripping his books even tighter to his chest. But the whispers don't stop.

The books drop with a loud bang. Break is still going on, but all chatter and movements seem to come to a stop. Eddie breathes heavily, trying to calm himself down.

No no no! They can't see!

Eddie's right fist collides with his head in a repetitive manner. It bangs and bang, as if it's trying to rid all the nasty thoughts. Unfortunately it doesn't help and things seem to only get worse.

He sobs uncontrollably while everyone stands and stares in shock. They always knew there was something wrong about the boy, but this? They never expected this.

Eventually the second bell rings and finally he opens his glossy eyes. He smiles when he sees he's the only one around. Eddie picks up his books and carries on as normal, happily skipping to his next class of the day.

The whispers are back when he opens the door. "Sorry I was late I was-..." His voice drops off. He clears his throat, smiles, and then takes a seat at the front.

"Eddie this is your third tardy."

The small boy frowns. "Well I've just been having a bad day."

"Yes we could all see that." The kids snicker at what she says.

And so he laughs along too, just for the hell of it. Then he stands, swinging a bag over his right shoulder as he does. "If only you knew what my mom does."

Everyone goes quiet at this, but Eddie only gives a content sigh. Now he's walking towards the door and nobody stops him. They only look with guilty eyes. He smiles once more before disappearing. "If only you knew."

Eddie walks home, but luckily it's good weather. His earbuds plays a happy tune and he can't help but to dance along the way. Eventually he does get home, though. But things don't seem like normal. The atmosphere is much more dark.

Still, he walks in and takes off his shoes. He'll try his best to act his best. Everything is normal if you make it seem that way. But his mother isn't in her recliner. No, she's stood by the kitchen sink.

"Your school called."

Eddie gulps. "Oh. What did they say?"

"That you haven't been a very good boy, Eddie Bear."

Eddie smiles wickedly, though she can't see that. For her backs turned the other way round. "You're right, mommy. Let me make it up to you."

She hums, sliding a set of pills across the counter. He shakes. "But mommy I've already taken them today."

She shushes him immediately. That's when he notices the new one. Bright and blue. "What's this?" He picks it's up angrily. He's had it now.

"It's for your recent behavior."

Eddie screams. "I don't want them!"

Her face is stone cold. "I'm standing here until you take every single one."

"I'll get sick!" He argues. His voice keeps raising. Still, she holds her ground.

"I won't!" His rage has gotten out of hand.

Finally Sonia snaps. She grips his wrist hard, pulling him forward. Next she claws the back of his head. She tugs until it's tilted all the way back. He winces at the pain, but she doesn't stop there. The woman shoves each one down his throat while he shakes and sobs.

She doesn't care.

Eventually it ends and she leaves him alone and sobbing. He immediately shoves two fingers down his throat to get them out of his system. Eddie never wants to feel the way those things make him feel. That's why he's been saving them in a small container that he keeps hidden away in his room. He can't remember the last time he'd actually taken any.

He's been saving them for a moment like this.

Eddie grins at the thought. He grabs the ingredients and whips up the perfect plan. Spaghetti for dinner and a coke as the drink. And a little something extra.

The pills, hidden underneath his floorboard, are now mashed and ready. He pours the powder into her coke and spits in it for good measure. Eddie hums and laughs while getting everything ready. This is a moment he's been waiting far too long for.

His feet dance to his mother's room, tray in hand. He has to compose himself before knocking. Now Eddie puts on his game face. Oh joy, oh boy! It's time, it's really time.

"Hey mommy. I know I reacted horribly before. I came to apologize. I know you work terribly hard and you do so much for me. So I made you dinner and brought your favorite drink. I hope you accept."

The woman smiles and coos at her baby boy. She even lets him sit on her bed. Of course she guzzles the meal right down. Eddie watches in anticipation the whole time. "How's it taste?"

Sonia doesn't look too good. She breaks out in a sweat. Her face seems more puffy. She's choking.

Eddie laughs and laughs at the site. "Awe!" He frowns before bursting into laughter again. He can't help himself. "I warned you what would happen. I told you to let me be. You did this to yourself! And now you're fucking dead!" Eddie's voice raises.

He screams insults her way while watching her choke on her own vomit. The small boy even knocks her off the bed and begins dragging her through the halls. Eventually he makes it outside, still dragging her to the best of his ability.

"Time to float!" He smiles before shoving her towards the pool.

As he watches her body sink and struggle, a guest appears out of nowhere. His neighbor, Mr. Allen. He was always such a sweet old man, which is why Eddie simply smiles and waves his way. "Afternoon!"

But the man only stares in horror before backing away.

It didn't take long for the police to show up and drag him away. He didn't make it easy for them, though. That's for damn sure.

Eddie didn't really mind either. What's the worst that could happen? He hadn't even turned seventeen. It's not like they'd put the tiny boy in jail.

His mom was dead. That's all he really cares about.
