Song: Card House by Deer Tick

May 14

The group, not wanting to cause more attention, decide to travel by foot. It's not a horribly large town and there can't be too many Tastee Farm vehicles around. If the nine had barely missed them then they couldn't have gotten far. Luckily they know where to possibly find them, thanks to one of the kid's friends, who happened to be sitting in a booth opposite of the Losers.

While running, Ben stops Bev. "Are you sure you shouldn't sit this out? You just woke up."

The girl simply laughs and shrugs him off. "What? Of course I shouldn't. I'm perfectly fine."

Ben looks unsure, but doesn't question further. It's not his decision to decide whether she can or can't. If she feels ready, she's ready. End of discussion.

They're approaching the park when they hear a yell. This only makes them hurry faster, but they stop when their eyes land upon the commotion. Tastee Farm vehicles surrounding two kids, one their age and one a bit younger. The two stand back to back as officers, dressed in black and completely armed, approach them.

"Don't come near us." The elder says, his hair bright blonde.

"This doesn't have to be hard. Just do as we say and no one will be hurt."

"It's not us who will be hurting." The younger speaks now, her voice seeming to hold a childlike nature to it.

The officers hold their weapons high, alerting the nine who watch from a distance. They're about to interrupt when the boy suddenly disappears from view. He appears again, next to one of the armored men. The boy grabs the weapon before he even has the time to notice.

Guns go off now, making the unnoticed group jump and grab at their ears. They expect the two to be dead when they look back up, but instead they're back to back again. The one boy with a gun in hand and the girl with her arms stretched and hands palm out.

The nine look to each other, each nodding before taking off towards the rest. This alerts the officers and kids, who all look on with wide eyes. But the eyes of the two in the center seem out of place compared to the others, considering they're bright and colored. That's when they know they've done it. That's when they know they're not alone.

Eddie runs faster than the rest, despite his tiny legs. The boy jumps before rolling to the ground, in between one of the armed man's legs. He's up in no time, shoving his palm in that same officer's face. After the man blisters and shrivels to the ground, Eddie turns to the smaller girl, his eyes bright green. He offers and polite smile, making the baby blue eyed girl smile back.

The rest catch up now, thankful for the fact that there's not many to take down. Bev, being all too excited, casts a flame towards one man, causing him to fall back. She laughs hysterically before doing it to another. The girl's just glad to be back and doing what she loves. Plus, it's a good distraction from what her mind really ponders on. Her mother.

Stanley and Mike have teamed up once again, which apparently is their new thing. Greta zaps everyone in sight. Sydney still hasn't gotten her power under control, but she manages a few minor injuries. Richie, who is all too gruesome, has made a man turn the gun on himself before pulling the trigger. Ben has surely caused brain damage from simple hits to the head, due to his incredible strength.

Bill is so caught up with his own victim, he doesn't see yet another gun pointed towards him. There's a loud pop, which pulls him from the blackened world. He turns his head just in time to see a bullet bounce off of an invisible force field and back to hit the man who shot it in the first place. Bill looks around, puzzled as can be. Who here has such a power?

Then he spots her, the small girl from earlier, who looks to him with a smile. He nods, curling his lips up a bit. Then he moves on, though there's not really that many left. In fact, there's nobody left. Bodies scatter the floor below them, meaning it's a job well done.

Bill appears in front of the older boy, who's eyes light an imperial blue. "Y-Y-You're Emmitt?"

The boy looks unsure as he guards that same girl who helped him earlier. Bill let's his eyes drift down to her before planting a small smile on his lips. "And you are?"

The Emmitt boy is about to answer, but her small voice carries first. "Kate."

"Well, Kate and Emmitt. We're g-gonna need your h-help."
