Song: Play With Fire by Sam Tinnesz

May 19

Bill wants nothing more than to load them all up and break down the farm's door. However, he knows he can't. If there's any chance at all of saving Stanley, they have to work. And there's a lot of work to be done.

No one here is anywhere near understanding their power. There's so much more, and everyone can feel it, but there's still a bit of energy always being left behind. Every one of them knows of their potential. All they've got to do is train.

Which is why they're in California, placed in the middle of nowhere. No towns, no people, no anything. It's perfect. Time to get to work.

The group of thirteen stand together, ready for what's to come next. Their eyes train in on Bill, considering he's stood in front of them. As much as the man hates people and talking, he knows he has to. For Stanley. Plus he's the oldest and the rest had made him their own sort of weird leader, which he never agreed to. But he supposes someone's got to do it.

"We have no idea what to expect. But what we do know is they have Stanley and many more just like us. If we want to stay free, we've got to learn to use everything we've got. You all know there's more to us than what meets the eye. So let's learn to use more. That's the only chance we have if we want to save Stanley and keep us safe as well. Let's get to work. Beverly, you're up first." Bill steps away as Beverly comes forward, her lips forming an unsettling u.

The rest take a seat while she faces a tree, hands pushing out. Immediately a burst of flame shoots. She moves and controls it, becoming more and more in touch. The flames grow and swirl, that is before she reels it back in. Beverly turns to the rest now, giving a satisfied smile. "Who's next?"

Eddie hurries up, feeling a sudden burst of energy. He's faced towards a different tree, seeing as that one is burnt to a crisp. His hands push just as Beverly's had, only it's a green smoke that forms instead of flames. It travels and crawls up the bark, implanting its disease deep within the roots. After the tree visibly shrinks and shrivels, he stops. The boy takes a few steps towards it before coming to a stop. His eyes shut in concentration, but to no avail. Eventually he grunts, stomping over to the thing in defeat before healing it with one touch.

Greta gladly goes up next, ready for the challenge. She's created a storm before, so why not again? The girl takes a deep breath, arms reaching towards the sky. Greta offers a smile in Syd's direction moments before she grips lightning straight from the sudden grey skies. It's raining now, though she doesn't seem to mind. Instead she basks in the storm's presence, drawing more and more lightning in, eyes glowing a bright electric purple. Only then the storm fades and she takes a seat, letting the rest show their abilities.

Stanley Barber showed his water, Emmitt demonstrated his teleportation, Richie even ended up controlling a squirrel. Mike had shape shifted into Greta, which was a shock to him, considering he had no idea he could shape shift into a human form. That only leads to more curiosity. What all can he really do?

Kate shows her force field while every person tries to get through. They cast their flames and water, but to no luck. This does make Ashley feel better, seeing as she's not the only one who can't get through to the girl. Still, it frustrates her deeply. Kate's just glad she can't get into her head. Quite frankly, the thought unsettles her.

Ben had ripped an entire tree out of the ground, not really knowing what else to do. Though something interesting did happen. His eyes turned a dark silver, something they'd yet to do. So that's exciting.

Bill was quick with his, simply forcing everyone to fall down a giant canyon. A smile surprisingly formed on his two lips as he watched the group scream and lash about. Sydney took a bit longer than the others, seeing as she still doesn't exactly know what the fuck she can do. After much concentration, she does manage to make a tree fall. That's a victory for her, no matter how long it took.

Finally it's down to Maria, who has no interest in being stuck with this group. She's simple and wants a normal life. The powers she possesses are a nuisance, even if they did make great for shop lifting, which she definitely does not do. So she says.

She's argued and begged for them to release her, but to no luck. She's vital for this mission. However, Maria did strike up a deal. As soon as they get this so called Stanley, she gets the hell out of there. The thirteen year old would rather not do any of this, but that's a laugh.

So she stands, creating her five forms. "Happy?" She doesn't take it too seriously, which is why Bill, Greta, Beverly, Stanley Barber, and Eddie close in on the forms, all wearing a smile.

Maria scowls. "What are you doing?"

Immediately the five start up a fight, Bill taking the original. Her eyes widen, realizing what's about to happen. "You need to take this seriously. If you don't, we might as well all be dead."

"If I'm no help let me go!" She argues, but Bill only purses his lips.

Every form is dodging and fighting off the others, though she's no match. Especially after Bill has taken her sight. "If you don't wisen up soon, we'll have to find a few ways to make you."

"Fine! Fuck, man. I'm just a kid!"

Bill looks to the group sat to the side and then to the ones fighting. They're all kids. "I don't care."

He lets her go now, as do the rest of them. "Alright guys. Pair up. I want a nice, fair fight." Bill's eyes travel to the smiling faces, and he weirdly smiles back. He's positive they're close. He's positive he'll see his boy before too long. Bill can practically feel it.
