Song: Always Forever by the Cults (cover by L3MON)
June 18
Bill is drowning in Stanley Uris.
Perfectly pretty is Stanley Uris, the boy with the most unique mind. At least to the man laying by his side, gaze not daring to leave such a heavenly view. Bill watches pink parted lips, unable to keep from smiling due to the drool threatening to spill.
He shouldn't be here, nor does he do this often. But how can he not risk sneaking around when the prize is such warm arms. Those warm arms of course being the arms of Stanley Uris, who is dreaming of a place far better than this. Perhaps if they continue doing so well they'll be able to gain access to their own room. Instead of being bunked with randoms across the building from each other.
Bill hardly sneaks down, which he thinks might be because he's so afraid of being caught. Part of it is because he wants to do well and gain back his powers, but the other part might be the cause of trauma. Either way, it doesn't matter now. The man finally has his powers, along with the rest of the group. There isn't much to fear when he can do the unthinkable.
Part of the man is in a state of bliss, imagining a world where they rest in one another's arms, far away in their own little home. The other part fidgets and screams, wanting nothing more than to figure this all out. As much as he imagines, it is still far out of their reach. They can't be normal. It's not what this world wants for them apparently, as frustrating as that is.
The lab won't leave his mind. He still hasn't told the rest, though he will eventually. Stanley is right, it might be the solution to finally escaping this hellhole. Speaking of Stanley, he can't help but wonder what this all means. Is there a reason why him and Stanley have an identical mark living in their brains? Bill, along with Stan, has always known they are more than lovers. However what exactly does that entail?
It's been known since day one that they are all connected. And it just gets more and more complex as the days go by. All different powers and all different places. Learning that they can share powers and now this? What is next? What can possibly top an element not made from anything humankind has discovered?
Even when Stanley Uris sleeps he's still so distracting. Not just in the way of his beauty, either, but also the way Bill feels that need to protect him. That need to keep him alive and breathing, experiencing life and then experiencing more. A need that sits so heavy on his chest that it's frozen in place, making it impossible to look any other way. It constantly calls him in the sweetest voice, begging to be kept safe, kept whole, and kept warm.
There's something so calming about a heartbeat. Maybe it's because of how precious the heart can be. The delicate organ that keeps the people we most adore alive and ready to drum along to whatever challenge beats it's way in. The heart dances and so easily gives one away by the way it jumps and twirls, just as it also stumbles and falls, sometimes slowing at an unnerving pace.
Bill so badly wishes there was a way to live forever side by side, resting in his lover's arms, just as he is now. Why weren't they given immortality? Or even vampires only leading their lives in darkness? They'd be city people, perhaps, living a night life. Or still stuck on that same beach, still watching that same sunrise right before they falter back inside. Nothing could be so bad with a love like his own. As long as they're together for eternity.
Some will say they do have an eternal life, somewhere far from this earth. Bill thinks it to be bullshit, and even if not, still a risk. He would rather have that assurance and not just a few silly opinions to go off of.
If there was an afterlife with one hundred percent certainty, then maybe Bill would end it all. Even if it is a world without power. Even if they woke up fish. They would still be together and in love and whole. But also free and away from this nightmare. Just two free souls running away to the nearest body of water, no cares in the world. That doesn't sound half bad.
