Song: Moon Dust by Cherry Glazerr
April 30
Ben had kept an eye on Beverly all night, barely getting any sleep. She's still asleep, but cooled down. Her skin no longer glows red as it once did. He'll see about her eyes when she wakes.
The rest of the group awoke on Bill's living room floor quite some time ago. Richie and Eddie sit at the table with Bill and Stanley, who all pass a bag of Cheeto puffs. Along with a joint.
Mike sits on the living room floor, away from the rest of them. He'd barely opened up. No one even knows why he was in the hospital. The boy is quiet as can be, and definitely cautious. Ben can tell he doesn't trust them one bit. He gets it.
Ben looks back down to the redhead and smiles. It's weird to see her so calm. He's only known her for a short while, but she's always so energetic.
Bill is the opposite of Mike. He seems to open up more and more by the minute. Though no one knows much about his past or family. All they know is that he likes to shoot. And that he stutters.
Stanley is fascinated by the man. He can't help but to always stare. He's beautiful, at least Stanley thinks so. Stan has even started picking up on all his little quirks. Such as when he grinds his teeth in dangerous situations. Or when he closes his eyes when he stumbles on a word. He likes his dimples too. And he likes the way he holds himself. He's older and wiser and just so cool.
Little does the boy know, Bill is doing the same. Just much less obvious. Of course Bill notices the glances and smiles and hopeful eyes. It's hard to ignore. He can't deny that he likes the attention, though. And if he's being honest with himself, he finds it hard not to stare back. Not when the boy has such pretty eyes and a charming smile. His hair is awesome and his dimples are too. Bill likes his positivity, though something tells him that might all be an act. It's hard to read the Uris boy.
Bill finally looks away from Stanley to see Richie throwing a Cheeto into Eddie's mouth, only for him to catch it and burst out laughing. Richie grins from ear to ear and then laughs himself. The two had already made up their own handshake. Yet they'd only known each other for a few days. Bill wonders how two people could become so close in such a short amount of time. Then he looks to his side and feels the warmth of another in his hand. He squeezes Stanley's hand and smiles. Maybe he understands.
Everyone stops what they're doing when a sleepy Beverly awakes from her slumber and stretches her arms high above her head. The girl yawns and rubs her eyes before taking in the others around her. She smiles up at them all and then speaks. "What did I miss?"
The four sitting at the table get up and travel over to the two. Even Mike has sat his book to the side to join. They make a circle and eye each other nervously. Now that everyone is awake, there are matters to be discussed. Only it's not exactly an easy conversation.
"You lit up like a forest fire, burned the station to the ground, and about killed Ben while doing so. To put it simply." Richie smiles at her.
Ben glares his way. "Beep beep."
Richie furrows his eyes at this, but decides not to question it. Instead he turns his attention back to the girl, who only smiles and shrugs them off. "No. There's no way."
"Oh there's a way all right." Eddie speaks too.
"Yeah. And Eddie discovered something about himself t-too." Bill goes to shove Eddie playfully, but is stopped.
