It Can't Be...

Chapter 39

A/N:  Here is another chapter and I hope you enjoy it.

Dean POV

I know that I hurt Detrick when I didn't include him in on the group phone call about his crazy Uncle Ted, but I wasn't thinking clearly. I was so upset with what I had found out that I was shaking. I have been mad before and upset, but never to this extreme. The information that Detrick's father had provided me along with my father and Tae's father was too much.

I knew that Tae didn't know about this and I immediately called him to inform him, but within minutes, Tae and Tee had gotten all their friends included on the phone call too. I wasn't thinking clearly. The only thought that kept going through my mind was that I need to protect my baby. I can't let anything happen to Detrick. I don't know what I would do if I lost him. I can't let that happen.

The information that the fathers have provided me is all over the place. However, one thing is clear. Crazy Uncle Ted is wanting to use Detrick as a collateral for his debt. No one is exactly sure what that means, but we all have an idea. However, I don't even want to think about it. No one is going to have my baby. Only I'm allowed to touch him and no one else. EVER!!

I'm his first and I plan on being his last, too.

I still don't know how Detrick will deal with this. He is so shy. Even though he has gone through so much in his life, he is still very sheltered and naïve when it comes to things like this. In addition, Tee thought that it would be best to not tell Detrick anything right now. However, that isn't how the cards played out.

I hesitate as Detrick repeats himself. "Tell me what you guys talked about and now. It must be bad if you don't want to tell me."

Oh, you have no idea baby.

I gulp. Now, what do I do?

Tentatively, I reply, "I think we need to call Tae and Tee. Is it all right if they come over and we explain everything to you?"

I breath a sigh of relief as Detrick nods his head. "Yes. But I want every little detail. Don't skip anything!"

"Don't worry, baby. I won't skip anything." I kiss him again on his neck and I reluctantly release my hold on him.

I've been so worked up all afternoon that the only thing that I can think about is holding Detrick in my arms all night long. However, it doesn't look like I'll be able to do that now.

I pull my phone out of my pocket. Putting the phone on speaker, I call Tae.

Ring....ring....ring.....ring...

Tae's voice fills the room. "Hey, Dean. What's up?"

I glance at Detrick, who is smiling at me, but I can see the worry in his eyes. I've done a bad job at hiding the fact that I'm worried. I didn't have to say anything, and he knows.

I fight to find the right words, but I don't even know what those are, so I bluntly state, "Tae, Detrick wants to know everything about our discussion this afternoon. Can you and Tee come over here, so we can explain everything as a group?"

Detrick quickly adds, "I want to know everything. Don't you dare try to hide anything from me."

Tee replies, "We are on our way there with food. I figured that you knew something was off, so Tae and I had already planned on coming over tonight. We will be there shortly."
