" I am so sorry I'm late babe " Jace said as soon as I opened the door for him.

" You're always late Jace " I smiled before grabbing my small purse off the couch.

" That doesn't mean I'm not sorry about it " he gave a cheeky smile.

" You look beautiful. Your a pretty witch " he said before kissing my lips.

"Thanks And you look like a good looking uhmm.. " i thought a bit as I scanned his look " every star of a seventees movie "

" I didn't know what to wear "

" You look pretty good "

" I have something for you " he said then he brought out a small jewelry box from his leather jacket and opened it.
It was a golden necklace with the initials ' JM " on it. Simple yet very beautiful.

I gasped " Jace "

" I don't know if I'm taking this too fast because we've only been dating for one month but I just want you to know that you mean so much to me and I love you... You don't have to take it-"

" I love it " I said before kissing him.
" I love you too". He helped my put on the necklace.

" Shall we ?"  He said before we made our way to the dance.

The dance took place in the school's gym. It was surprisingly bigger than I remember but maybe it's because it's always littered with sports equipment but that day it was arranged with tables and chairs, a photo booth, a DJ's booth and a stage.

" Hey you guys " James called to us over the loud music as soon as we walked in.

We were seated at a table when the James and  Madison. James was dressed as an escape convict and Madison was Daphnie from Scooby Doo.

" Wanna take pictures " Madison said lifting her phone up. About thirty photos and videos later, Crystal and River came over our table.

" Hey Madison, wanna go to the photo booth and take pictures? " James asked to which she agreed and they got up and left. Crystal looked at their direction and sighed as she sat down.

" He's still avoiding me " she frowned.

" Do you know why he is?" River asked me and I made a zipped mouth motion.

" Alright everyone get up. Its a party not a funeral get up and dance " Crystal said

We danced for a while but I stopped because I was thirsty. I went over to where the drinks and snacks and drinks where laid out on a table.

" You look nice "  someone said beside me.
" Thanks " I turned to see Ashton. He wasn't really dressed in a costume.

" How are you ? "

" Good, you ?" 

" Same " he replied and I could see his eyes lingerie on the chain around my neck. It suddenly felt heavy.

" Hey Avery " Clara appeared and clung on to his. She was dressed as some form of cat I guess. She wore a tight black Leather pants and a similar top, her nose had whiskers painted on, she had a cat ears head gear and a tail.

" Ashton, you're my date, we should be dancing" I felt she said that to upset me. I tried not to get it to upset me but it did.

I needed some air so I went out side I wanted to go to the football field but I heard yelling. It was James and Crystal. I tried to leave before they saw me but it was too late.

" Avery, did you know that James liked me ?" She asked with years brimming.
I couldn't bring myself to talk so I just nodded. She let out a harsh breath and James stormed off.
She was beginning to walk away but I stopped her.

" No Avery. I just want to be alone right now "

" Are you sure?" She nodded and I let her go.

I went back to the dance floor but I couldn't find Jace and after searching for a while, I found him close to the table we were seated at.

" There you are. I was looking for you " he wrapped his hands around my waist and brought me closer.

" There was a little incident "

" What happened?" He looked worried

" It's nothing-"

" You know your outfit fits your personality" Tori said, suddenly appearing.

" What the fuck do you want? " Jace spat out angrily.

" It's not about what I want. It's about what's right "

" What's going on here?" I asked confused

" Nothing, let's go " he grabbed my hand and we started walking away until she said something and I stopped.

" Do you really think your relationship with Jace is real? " Jace pulled harder on my hand but I didn't move.

" What is she talking about?"

" Nothing. She's just bitter "

" So you want to deny the fact that the only reasons you're dating her is because you want to get back at your brother and you think she's a social climbing bitch after she left your brother for you "

I turned around to face her then to Jace.
" Is this... Is this true?" Heavens knew how much I wished his answer was no

" It is.. it was until I got to know you.. Avery I love you " he said and I snatched my hand from his as I felt tears brimming.

" You're a bitch Avery " she said before emptying her drink on my head. Along with the drink, my tears fell with it. I wasn't just sad, I was beyond furious.

It seemed to have gotten everyone's attention because soon I could hear gasps and whispers. Even the music stopped.

" And you deserve to-" she continued

" Shut up " I said but it came out like a whisper.

" What did you say? "

" I said shut the fuck up Tori. You think I deserve this. You don't know me"

" I know well enough to-" she began

" No you don't you think you do but you don't . I never left Jace for Ashton, if I did that's none of your business, who do you think you are telling people what they deserve huh. You're the real bitch here. Fuck you " I said before running out of the gym in tears.

I ran over to the football field and fell on my knees as I sobbed.

" Hey, I saw what happened " Crystal said as she sat next to me and hugged me while I cried.

" I wanna go home "

" Me too. I have River's keys, let's go"

" Can you drive?" I said because I could smell the alcohol in her breath.

" Yeah "

" Avery please, let's talk. I'm sorry " Jace said as we were about to get in the car. I took off his chain and threw it at him.

Crystal went very fast so he couldn't follow us. After a while, she slowed down.

The car ride was quite except for Sam Smith's ' to die for ' playing on repeat. I was crying and Crystal was somewhat somber.

It happens to fast, one minute I was looking out the window and another the car was spiralling out of control then there was totally darkness.
