"WHERE'S REBEKAH?"
Gloria stared at Klaus with an expectant look in her eyes as she passed him and Stefan two beers and slid Eliza a glass of Bourbon. The entire walk back to the bar, Eliza had been thinking about why the hell she smelled the scent of her sister in that apartment, or why the hell she also could faintly smell Damon's cologne, too.
"She'll be here," Klaus answered. "I can't just conjure her on demand." He took the bottle from Gloria and looked at Stefan. "What's with you? I thought Chicago was your playground."
"So this is why you asked me to be your wingman?" Stefan questioned. "Because you liked the way that I tortured innocent people?"
"Well, that's certainly half of it."
"What's the other half?"
Klaus began to pour the bottle of malt into shot glasses for him, Stefan and Eliza. "The other half, Stefan, is that you used to want to be my wingman." He slid one of the shots to Stefan and then one to Eliza.
CHICAGO 1922 GLORIA'S BAR
"They're jealous," Stefan said as he and Klaus stood at the bar, drinking. "Your family wants you dead because they can never be what you are."
"What?" Klaus scoffed. "An abomination?"
"No. A king."
Klaus smiled at Stefan, which caused him to laugh lightly. "Look at us," Klaus chuckled. "Two sad orphans."
"My sister fancies you, you know," he said to Stefan. The green-eyed vampire hummed in acknowledgment. "But, I should warn you. Rebekah doesn't do anything half-speed, and that includes falling in love. She was just in love with Regina not too long ago. She still is, but her attention span... Be careful.."
Stefan laughed, as did Klaus. "I appreciate the advice," Stefan said as he held an arm around Regina's waist to keep her from falling; she had completely tuned out the conversation at hand and began to talk to another man, which only further amused the men before her.
"And when the point comes where she inevitably leaves you, and probably finds herself back with Regina," Klaus began, "she can't help it, it's just who she is. Don't let your heart do anything stupid."
