'Ugh... My head hurts... But why...? Did I hit it off something? Did something fall on my head...?'

"Guys, I think she's starting to wake up." A hushed voice surrounded her in the darkness.

'Okay, who's in my room and how did they get in my house? I always lock the doors...'

"Kira? Can you hear me...?"

Slowly, Kira managed to opened her eyes, and was met with the faces of her group of friends; Wasabi, GoGo, Fred, and Honey.

"Guys...?" She asked softl, trying to sit up.

"Hold up, kid," GoGo said, helping Kira sit up, "Take it easy, okay?"

She nodded and leaned back against the bed, or at least she assumed it was a bed. She didn't know where she was, so she looked around at her surroundings. Yeah, she was in a bed alright. A hospital one.

"Are we in a hospital...?" She asked curiously, raising an eyebrow.

"Yeah, Kira," Honey replied, "You've been out for a couple days now..."

"A couple days? Why would I..."

That's when she remembered; the fire, her running into SFIT after Tadashi, watching helplessly as a ceiling beam fell on him, the building exploding, everything. She felt tears rolling down her cheeks, and she rubbed at her eyes with her arm, not wanting to show her tears.

"T-Tadashi..." she managed to choke out his name, "Tadashi... Died... I-I was right there... I c-could've done something..."

"I don't think you could've," Wasabi replied, gently placing a hand on her shoulder, "He had gone in before you, you two must have been too far away to be able to reach each other before the building exploded... Right?"

She was silent for a moment before crying again.

"...I-It was... A ceiling b-beam... It f-fell on h-h-him..."

Furiously, she rubbed at her eyes, trying to stop crying, until she heard Fred's voice.

"It's okay to cry, Kira..." He said, "Everyone cries..."

It was weird hearing it from him, someone who's practically never serious. She looked up at them, completely silent, and noticed they looked just as sad as she did. Finally, she broke down and caved, letting herself cry. She leaned against the closest person, which happened to be Honey Lemon, and cried into her shoulder. Besides her loud cries, the hospital room was really quiet. She cried for what seemed like an eternity before she finally stopped, her eyes red and puffy.

"...When... When is Tadashi's funeral...?" She asked softly, staring up at them.

"Tomorrow," GoGo said.

"Good. I'm going, whether I'm allowed out of here or not..."

She looked down at her arms, noticing some slight burn marks on them. They seemed to have been treated, but were still visible slightly. She figured there were some on her legs, probably her back, and maybe even her face. Many people were probably going to ask her about them, which would get on her nerves, but she didn't care.

"Wait... Hiro... How is he...?"

"Not good... Cass said he hasn't left his room since the fire, and I don't think he's really eating much..."

She went silent.

'...I'm not letting him go through the same thing I went through...'

She had a bit of determination on her face, but none of them noticed.
