The Lonely and The Brave

Chapter 26 - "BloodShed" -

"You're kidding me. You're asking me to trust him?! After everything he's done?!"

Kira leaned back against the computer chair in Hiro's garage. Her arms were crossed in frustration.

"He isn't safe to trust!"

"Mathew trusts him, doesn't he?" GoGo asked, "So maybe we should too. If he told you everything that was going on and what they were building, then maybe he really does want to help."

"Or it's just part of their plan! We can't let him help us!"

"How about we take a vote then?" Hiro said, "All in favor of trusting Kira's dad, raise your hand."

Slowly, everyone but Kira began to raise their hand, much to the brunette's anger.

"Five against one, Kira. We're going to let him help us."

"Fine, but when he ends up betraying us, don't be surprised."

"Well, it's settled. We'll go talk to your dad now."

The group walked out of the garage and made their way to Kira's house, however, Kira wasn't the one to lead them. They all knew how to get there, so she walked behind them as they talked.

"None of you could ever understand my hatred for him..." She said softly as she kicked a stray walk on the sidewalk, "None of you grew up like I did... You all don't have lies like this in your family, now do you...?"

They all took notice that she was walking behind them, but no one said anything. They knew she must've been upset and mad that they were doing this, but they had no choice. It was for the greater goods. Finally, Hiro decided to step back a little and walk with her.

"Hey," He said, "I get that you're upset, but this is really serious right now. We have to do this in order to keep other people safe."

She didn't answer him at first, only looking up at him and staring with an angered expression, then finally let out a sigh.

"I understand that, but... You just don't really understand how I feel, Hiro. If you as grown up the way I had, then you'd understand. But you didn't, so you don't."

Those were the only words she said to him for the entire walk. Once they got to her house, she went in front of everyone and opened the door.

"Mathew! I'm back!"

"Living room!" She heard Mathew call back, and they all walked down to Kira's living room. Brandon and Mathew were watching something, but neither seemed to be talking to each other.

"Hello, Mr. Scarlet," Hiro said, a bit hesitantly.

Brandon turned to face them, and said "You can call me Brandon."

"You can call me Brandon," Kira mimicked to herself, earning herself a nudge in the side from GoGo.

"Okay, Brandon. Um... We've all decided that we will accept your help."

"Great. What can I do?"

"Well, we need to take out those robots soon, so we'll need your help in doing so."

"Then we should leave soon. Last time I saw those weapons, they were practically finished."

"Alright," Hiro turned around and faced his team, "Suit up. We're going back to San Andreas."

While the team talked about their plan to take down the robots, Kira flew beside them, staying completely silent. She heard everything they were saying, but whenever they tried to address her for her input, she didn't say anything. She was too lost in thought to really answer them.
