Ever since Tadashi's funeral, Hiro hadn't been himself. He was cold and distant towards everyone, no matter who it was. He had even stopped talking to his aunt. Very rarely did they speak, and it was usually about him eating. Everyone in the group tried to get through to him and get him to talk but it was pointless. He refused and always asked them to leave. Kira was the last to give up, though. She had many friends walk in and out of her life so quickly, she was determined not to lose Hiro too. But he gave her the cold shoulder each time she tried to visit him, first asking her to leave, then telling her she needed to leave. Finally, she gave up visiting him, and tried to video chat with him. He never picked up. She had very little hope that maybe he would show up to school, but it was soon vanished when she didn't see him at all. She finally have up trying all together.
One morning, the group walked to school together, doing some small chitchat as they walked, when Honey Lemon floated the idea of sending Hiro a video in hopes it would brighten his day a little. Kira responded by putting her headphones on, but no music. Her mood had been very cold, much like Hiro was to others, but she still managed to have a little fun with her friends. When the video was all sent, Hiro had checked his computer to find he had many missed calls from Kira, and a new message. He looked slightly confused, but clicked on the message, and the group popped up on his screen.
"Hi, Hiro!" Honey greeted, smiling at her phone, "We're recording this and hope it'll brighten your day a little. We all really miss you, Hiro, and hope you still might come to school with us eventually."
"Hope you're feeling a bit better, kid," GoGo added, "Same with us," said Wasabi. They all did their best to look happy. Well, except Kira, since she didn't even bother to look at Honey's face.
"Kira, don't you want to say something to Hiro?"
'Probably not...' Hiro thought, frowning slightly.
Honey turned to Kira and started to repeat herself when she was interrupted by Kira.
"There's no music on, Honey. I heard what you said."
She said it rather darkly, a hint of anger in her tone. It made Hiro sigh, because he knew it was his fault she was acting like that.
                              "What do you mean?"
"What I mean is I've been worrying about this kid who I've only known for about a month, who tells me to leave when I'm only trying to help and protect him-"
                              'Protect...?'
"Ignores my video requests and makes me panic thinking something happened to him, makes me call his aunt to make sure he's okay, and when I find out he's just not answering..." She sighed, shutting her eyes and stopped walking, "It gets annoying, because I only want to help him..."
                              '...Sorry...'
                              "Please...? Say something?" Honey asked.
                              "Fine."
Soon, Kira's face was the only one visible on his screen.
"Listen, Hiro, at least answer one of my calls. If you couldn't tell from that speech, I really care about my friends, even if I act like a cold person... So... At least let me know you're okay..." She handed the phone back to Honey, and everyone said their goodbyes.
                              '...I'm sorry...'
Slowly, and a bit hesitate, he opened up a video chat site the Kira had been calling him on, and pressed the "call" button under her name, hoping she'd pick up and wasn't too mad at him.
Right when the group had reached the doors of SFIT, Kira's phone began to ring. She looked down at it and read Hiro's name. "Finally..." She mumbled softly, and opened the call, forgetting she had headphones on.
