((A/N: Okay, so I actually know nothing on how Kira's backpack works besides when she pushes the button a mechanism pushes out the wings, so most of what she'll be doing is probably complete nonsense so don't take it seriously. Also, this chapter is really long))
Kira sighed as she tossed her backpack onto her table. "Stupid Bot fighters," She growled, "and their stupid strength. Ruining my wings..." Her hand balled up into a fist. "Deserve to be in jail." She looked around the desk searching for her screwdriver. 'Where did I put it...?' She thought, 'don't tell me someone took it while I was gone...' Due to her frustration and clouded thoughts, didn't even hear her friend come up behind her in a friendly way. "Hey, Rose Petal!" A male voice said behind her. Irritated, but trying to keep calm, she turned to meet the face of her friend Fred inside his lizard suit. "Fred," She said in a tone that showed she was angry, but not with him, "as much as I love the fact that I have a nickname, right now I'd appreciate only being called 'Kira', and nothing else. Understood?" She made sure her last word got the point across that she was not in the mood for any sort of joking around at the moment, but she would cool down soon. Fred could see the fury in her eyes and he gulped nervously. "Well... I can see that this isn't the best time..." He replied, backing away, "I'll just... Practice my sign twirling..." Quickly, he walked away, afraid she would explode if he said something else. "I'm just glad I didn't say anything harsh like I normally would've..." She murmured, continuing the search for her screwdriver, "Maybe GoGo or Wasabi borrowed it...?" She sighed "ugh." Slowly, she walked over to a large man working on something, his space cut off from everyone else's. "Wasabi," She said, "Have you seen my screwdriver?" "No," Wasabi replied, fixing a screw on a large metal "pole". Kira never knew what he called it, but she knew what it did, and that was good enough for her. She groaned when he said "No," trying to show she was irritated, before asking "okay, then do you have one I can use?" "Yes, right there," he pointed over on his desk, "but please-" "I'm not going to mess with it. Don't worry." She grabbed it from the desk and walked back over to her backpack, opening the part that held the wings. All of the wires that were connected to the wings and the part that would push them out of the compartment were all tangled, and some of them were snapped, along with a broken microchip. "Oh, come ON," she growled, "Now I have to redo practically everything..." She sighed and put her headphones on and began to take everything apart. First, she took out her belongings from the bag, which was a notebook, some school items, and a stuffed animal toy, a lamb to be exact. She stared at it for a moment, before tearing her gaze away and re-focusing on her backpack. Next, she began checking all the wires and the microchip, just to see if they could be any use to her at all, but turned out they were all useless. Nothing could be fixed and she had to start from scratch once again. She groaned and took them out of the compartment. "Completely... Useless..." She muttered, "I'll have to redesign them..." Despite having music on, she could've sworn she heard the muffled voice of Tadashi, but decided to ignore it so she could continue working, and ripped the wires out carefully before disposing them. She soon detached the wings from the compartment to see if they needed to be redesigned as well. To her, they seemed in pretty good shape, nothing but mere dents and a couple of scratches. That was a good sign, and put her in a better mood. With a smile on her face, she walked back over to Wasabi with his screwdriver. "Thanks for letting me borrow it," She said, handing it to him, "No problem," he replied, seeming to be finished working on his own project. "What did you use it for?" "Huh?" She asked, removing the headphones, "What did you say?"
"What did you use it for?"
"Oh, my wings were broken, so I had to remove them from the backpack. The wires were dead and some were snapped so I had to get rid of them. I've gotta either try to fix the microchip or create a new one."
                              "Ah."
She started walking back to her desk when a talk blonde girl wearing pink glasses and a white lab coat ran past her. "Sorry!" she called, but with an excited smile on her face. "It's okay, Honey Lemon," Kira replied, smiling, and that's when she noticed Tadashi and Hiro walking towards Honey. "So, you both decided to come down and look around the lab?" She asked as Hiro started to watch Honey's experiment. "He was going to go to another bot fight," Tadashi explained, "so I told him I'd drive him, and decided to stop here first."
"Ha, you gonna see if he'll still go to the fight?"
"I hope he doesn't. And, I kind of hope he might want to enroll here."
"It seems like his kind of school."
They laughed softly and heard Honey's experiment "explode". Honey was covered in pink with a large grin on her face. "Wow," Hiro said, an enthusiastic grin on his own face. Kira smiled at the pair, Honey was always so excited when showing someone her experiment. Tadashi walked over to Hiro and introduced him to Wasabi while she walked back to her desk. "Now... These look perfectly fine, so it must have been those wires," She murmured, picking up one of the wings, "Unless something in the... No then they would have popped up..." Hiro, having just met GoGo, teenage girl with short black hair and a couple of purple streaks, always having gum in her mouth and a "need for speed", soon walked over to Kira to see what she was doing. "What are you working on?" He asked, staring at the wing she was holding, "I'm trying to fix the wings," she replied, then added "I put wings onto my backpack so I'd have a way of transportation to college and any other place I needed to go."
"Wouldn't your parents drive you?"
"Like I said earlier, they're not in town, and it wouldn't matter anyways. They work really early in the morning."
                              "Oh."
"Hamada, you really are a moron sometimes."
"Good to see the two of you getting along," Tadashi said as he walked up to the pair, "I guess I can warm up to your brother," Kira replied, "As long as he doesn't interfere with anything I do and-"
She felt her phone start to vibrate in her pocket. "Who's calling me...?" She murmured, picking up the phone. "Hello?" She walked away from the group.
"Ms Kira Scarlet?" A male voice was on the other line.
                              "Speaking."
                              "Elizabeth... She was confirmed-"
"I already figured that. I told you this already, you just chose not to believe me."
Her head went down slightly, letting her hair hide her eyes.
                              "Kira, we're still-"
"I don't need to know the details. I'll just assume things until you prove me wrong, or confirm them. Goodbye."
With that statement, she hung up the phone, returning to the group.
"Is something wrong, Kira?" Fred asked as she returned.
"...Nothing..." She replied darkly, "Nothing is wrong. I'm fine."
It was clear that she wasn't, but they all knew if they pestered her about it any further, she would yell and threaten them.
However, Hiro did not know this, and said "No you're not fine." He frowned.
"Hiro," Kira looked up at him with an angry expression, "Drop. It."
                              "But-"
She had reached forwards and grabbed him by his shirt collar, much like how Yamma had earlier, and pulled him close to her.
                              "Drop it."
He gulped and nodded quickly, and she dropped him, her phone vibrating once more. She picked it up, only staring at the screen. This time it was a text message from the same man who had just called her. She didn't bother to read it and shoved her phone back into her pocket.
"I've gotta go..." She claimed, walking over and picking up her belongings. The compartment that held the wings were closed, so she could take her backpack home. "Will someone make sure no one touches my wings? They're in good shape and I don't want them ruined."
"I will," GoGo offered, "But where are you going?"
"I apologize, but I am not going to tell you. This does not involve any of you, so you do not need to know."
She was about to leave right then but turned to Tadashi, "You should show Hiro what you've been working on. I'll bet he'll love it."
She clutched tightly to her toy lamb as she walked out of the lab and outside the building, slowly making her way to her home.
"...Lizzie..." She murmured, feeling warm tears roll down her cheeks, "It was nice while it lasted..."
((A/N: Well, I said it was going to be long, and it was... I actually cut some things out to keep it from getting longer. I was going to have Kira join Tadashi and Hiro to see Baymax, but I've got a different idea :3 I hope you enjoyed, and again, feedback would be greatly appreciated))
