School had started up again like it normally did after the "huge robots in the city" fiasco. Although it was nice to have a month off of college, being back meant they could continue working on their projects. As soon as Kira's classes were all over, she ran down to her lab, followed by Rover.
"C'mon!" She called to him, opening her lab door, "I wanna get your coding back in order!"
"I'm coming!" He replied, running into the lab.
"Good! Stand over by the computer and I'll change your coding back to normal."
He did as she asked and deactivated himself, his microchip sticking out. She pulled it out and plugged it into the computer, quickly changing the string of coding she had highlighted back to normal from one of the copies of his correct codings. It was quick and painless, and within minutes, Rover was activated once again.
"There we go, good as new!" She grinned and walked over to her desk, "Now... Let's activate the other two..."
She reached into the drawer and pulled out two small, gray human-looking robots. One of them was labeled "A1" and the other "A2". She pressed a button on each of their chests and their eyes slowly lit up a pale orange as little wings popped up on their backs, spinning around in a circle to keep them flying.
"Oh, hello, Ms. Kira!" A1 said cheerfully.
"It's been quite some time since we've been activated," A2 added, "How are your productions coming along?"
"Pretty good, if I do say so myself," Kira replied, smiling, "I've missed having you two around. With my backpack shortening out most of the time, and some recent events, I forgot to activate you two again until now. I apologize."
"It is alright, Ms. Kira," A1 said, "Now that we've been activated, we need to run a scan on you."
The pair of robots connected their arms together and scanned Kira.
"Ms. Kira, your emotions seem to be a bit... Strange," A1 said, "Are you alright?"
"Mhm. I'm just doing some thinking about... Things."
"Ms. Kira," A2 said, seeming to look at her burns, "When did you get those burn marks on your skin?"
Kira glanced down at the faded burn marks on her skin, "I tried to save someone from a fire, but I couldn't do it..."
A1 nudged A2 roughly, "A2! You've made her upset!"
"Ah! Ms. Kira, I didn't mean to! I swear!!"
"Don't worry about it. It's fine." She smiled at the little robot.
"Are you sure?"
"Positive."
The two robots flew onto her shoulders as she turned around to face Rover.
"Ah, this is A1 and A2, Rover. A1, A2, this is Rover."
"It's nice to meet you!" The pair said together.
"Nice to meet you as well," Rover replied.
"Now that your introductions are over, I'll take you two to meet my other friends. With everything that had been happening, I haven't been able to introduce you to anyone."
As she exited her lab, Rover followed her. She figured everyone was in the Nerd Lab. Right as she entered, she could see her group of friends talking to one another. A1 and A2 hid behind her hair as she walked over to them.
"Hey guys," She said, and they looked up at her, "There's something I'd like to show you."
She looked at her shoulders, trying to get the pair to show themselves, "C'mon, you two."
