I pulled up to the diner and parked in front of a sign saying something about a valentine's day waffle discount. I opened the door with my right hand and quickly ran inside.
There was no one there except for a couple waitresses, one of them I knew personally, Rafaela. She was Jake's girlfriend for like 2 years before they broke up last year. I let out a deep sigh in disappointment.
"Have you seen Winston and Cj?" I asked Rafaela walking past some tables, she was mopping the floors.
"Um, yeah, they were here I wanna say... 10 minutes ago?" she said itching at her hair, "you just missed them, sorry," she said with a frown.
I flopped down at an empty table in front of her with an open bottle of whiskey on top of it.
She stopped mopping and looked at me, "Can I get you something?" she asked me.
I shook my head, "Do you know where they left to go to?" I said grabbing the bottle of whiskey.
She looked at the ceiling like she was thinking, "um...I think I heard them saying something about going to Winston's house right after they asked out, I don't know," she smiled, "why?"
I took a sip out of the whiskey bottle, "doesn't matter, not anymore," I said flopping down on the booth seat.
I immediately sat back up thinking about what they would do there, alone, at their house. The words if the man at the gas station came rushing back to me
Well..boy, girl, who cares, go and gettem'
I grabbed the bottle of whiskey from.tbe table, "I gotta go," I got up and started to walk, "do you mind if I take this?" I said gesturing at her.
She shook her head, "your good."
I grinned at her and walked out of the diner and to my car.
I got in to my car and drove out of the diner. I had my mind set on what I wanted. Winston lived 15 minutes away from the diner, I knew that, so they can't have done much in just 15 minutes right?
