No one had taken any of the carrots I put out, I think Elio took one but that was it. I was standing over the bathroom sink with a wet, dripping face. I had just finished washing of the sweat and grease from my face, trying to refresh my self. I patted my cheeks and nose with a towel, drying off water on my face. I sighed stretching and carefully opened the door so. I wouldn't wake anyone. Rafaela had fell asleep almost an hour ago with her phone in her hand. CJ had collapsed on top of Elio's shoulder but Elio was still awake on scrolling through his phone. Molly fell asleep with her legs stretched out on the couch with Rafaela using her thighs as a pillow. Monty was awake in the corner of the couch watching some YouTube video. I slowly grabbed Rafaela's phone from her loose hands and placed it on the table in the center of the living room.

"There's an extra room upstairs if you want to sleep there and not on the couch," I whispered to Elio, pointing upstairs.

He looked up from his phone screen, "Um, are you sure, I don't want to if it'll make you feel uncomfortable" He turned off his phone, trying not to wake CJ.

"Pfft," I scoffed, "No, it's fine." I reassured with a smile.

He shrugged, "Okay then, I guess so," he said giving a thankful grin.

He carefully lifted himself from the couch, carrying CJ's head down and laying it on the cushion and stretching out his legs to the other side.

"Is it?-"

"Upstairs, last room to the left," I interrupted.

"Thanks," he said sincerely.

The only one left awake in the house besides me was Monty. He had turned off his phone and gotten into a comfortable position trying to fall asleep. His eyes were fluttering closed, and his arms were crossed over his chest.

"Hey," I nudged his leg, his eyes flew open.

"What?" he muttered surprisingly.

I cleared my throat, "If you wanna like, sleep upstairs you can," I implied.

He furrowed his eyebrows, "Elio just took the guest room and I can't really sleep in tour parents' room, can I?" He frowned pitifully.

"No," I added, "I mean like..." I stopped, looking down at the floor and them back up at his face. I was playing with my fingers behind my back. I sighed, slapping both of my hands against the sides of my thighs and then tucking them into my pockets,"with me."

He stopped breathing for a little bit, I could tell his brawny chest had came to a halt after rising up and down with every breath of summer air. The only sound in the house was the low humming of the air conditioner, the chirping birds settling down in their comfortable, familiar nests after a long day of hunting and flying and the loud buzz of the crickets outside seeking shelter in the tall bushes.

"Yeah, ok," he shrugged and put his phone into his back pocket.

My heart filled with joy as I tried to cover the screaming smile from ear to ear on my face.

He patted me on the back and skipped every other step up the stairs and into my room where we were just a couple hours ago.

"I'll be right there one second," I said trying not to wake the others.

He gave me thumbs up, not looking back and soon the click of my bedroom door behind him. I bent backwards, stretching my back and shoulders with a loud, much-needed exhale. I slid off my shoes, placing them by the front door. I bent over to the big cabinet right next to the stairs, usually locked and the key hidden but in this case, I knew exactly where the key was. I opened the cabinet slightly and peeking in just to make sure it was still there. It was. My old camera, the one that was destroyed so long ago in that hallway by those jocks, which ironically were almost black out drunk at my house tonight. I still kept it after all of those months, locked away in that cabinet full of old baby pictures and bottles of priceless whiskey bottles -which god forbid were used at the party tonight- I'm not sure why because it doesn't work anymore but I knew for a fact that there was still a picture of Monty, smiling in his football uniform, his mouthguard hanging from his helmet, somewhere in the lost footage of the camera. I sighed with nostalgia carefully locking back up the cabinet and hiding the key right where I found it. I tiptoed to the kitchen turning off the lights and then the outdoor lights, leaving me in complete darkness. I headed up the stairs where the scratch mark from Rafaela's heel was. I crept past Elio's room and into mine. Monty was passed out on my bed, shirtless with a rested face.

Aww, I said almost out loud. I quickly took off my shirt and slid down my shorts past my k eyes and into the floor, eager to get into bed. I lifted the covers and snuck into bed, carefully pressing my back against Monty's perfectly structured body. I felt his airy chuckle against the back of my neck, he flopped his big arm over me, pulling me in closer and whispering something into my ear.

"Goodnight, Winston."
