"Cheese," We all smiled looking into Rafaelas moms phone.

"Mais uma, Rafaela," her mom spoke in Portuguese.

"What did she say?" Molly whispered under her breath to Rafaela.

"One more," she translated, "one more picture."

I smiled brightly at the camera.

Click. The flash went off.

Her mom gave us a thumbs up, telling us we could go now.

"Lemme see," Rafaela walked over to her mom and looked the phone.

"Aw," she smiled, "I like it."

"Can I post it?" Elio asked her.

"Mhmm, lemme send it to you," she looked at Molly, "Do you want me to send it to you too?"

"I don't know, let me see," she peeked at the phone. A grin grew on her face, "oh," she said impressively, "alright, you look so good in that one."

Rafaela blushed, "so do you, bitch."

"Send it," Molly pointed at the picture.

"Sent."

Rafaela glared at me, "Oh, Winston, do you want the picture too?" She said out of pity, as if she forgot about me and just realized and asked me so I wouldn't feel left out.

"Sure."

I felt a sudden hand on my back and immediately looked back.

"Hey," he said.

I smiled nervously at him.

"I'll be there daqui a poquinho, you can go to the car," she gave her mom a kiss.

"What did you say?" Molly asked her.

"I'll be there in a bit."

"Oh my god like I'm actually done with school now," Rafaela gasped.

"I know right, it feels so weird," Elio said.

There was a long pause before Rafaela broke the silence, "Well, me and Molly have to go get ready for the party tonight."

Molly shook her head "yes."

I frowned, "the party doesn't start for hours, what?"

"Yeah but it takes me a long time to get ready and I still have to shower and then do my makeup, and we're getting there early," Rafeala argued.

"And plus," Molly interrupted, "we still have to make out and kiss each other."

Monty widened his eyes and Elio looked like he had just seen a ghost.

Rafaela awkwardly chuckled, "Come on, girlfriend."

They both walked away towards her moms car.

Monty and Elio didn't speak, "Guys," I snapped, "she was joking, obviously."

"Anyways," Monty sighed, "Wanna go?" He asked me.

"Mhm, sure," I replied.

We started walking away from Elio. I couldn't help but notice that we had just left Elio there by himself. He had no one there with him and he was standing there like a lost child in a mall.

"I feel kinda bad for him, don't you?" I asked Monty as I walked away.

"I mean, not really, why?" He replied treading quickly to his car.

"He's by himself, don't you feel like we should offer him a ride or something?"

"What? No," Monty said.

"Why not?" I questioned him.

"Because, that's weird."

"No it's not," I opened the door to his car.

"Yeah...it is," he groaned.

"Alright," I gave up on arguing with him and sat in my seat, putting on my seatbelt and crossing my arms.

He put the car in reverse, pulling out of the parking spot. He was very focused and not paying any attention to me.

He drove out of the parking lot and started making the loop around the school to get out of the property.

He glanced at me with a stumped look, "are you mad at me?"

"No," I clapped back at him, " I'm just confused why you cant give him a ride home."

"Winston, he walked on us practically naked in your room in the middle of the night," he argued with me.

I didnt respond.

He rolled his eyes, "fine," he scoffed with a smile, "Hey, Elio!" he shouted out of the car window.

He looked over at us with squinted eyes.

"Wanna ride?" Monty asked him.

"Uh...Yeah, alright," he ran over to the passenger door.

Monty looked at me before Elio got into the car, "don't blame me when this gets awkward."

Elio opened the back door grinned at us, sitting down with a sigh and a groan.

Monty continued driving out of the school.

I turned up the radio and let the music play in the background.

I hummed the song to myself, tapping my thighs with my fingers and looking at the trees as they quickly blurred into one big green and white oil painting.

"So, Elio, where do you live?" I asked him.

"Um, just down there, Bonsai Circle."

"Oh, not too far then," Monty added.

"Yeah," he chuckled softly.

Tensions where obviously high.

"Where are you going to college?" I asked him.

"I'm not," he said, "I gave up on that when I moved to Evergreen.

"Oh."

"Yeah, college isnt really for me," he added to what he just said.

"How 'bout you?" He asked me the same question I asked him.

"Dartmouth."

"Fancy," he said.

"Yeah," I laughed, "I guess so."

We pulled into Bonsai Circle and started down the long road.

"You can drop me off here," Elio picked up his phone from the seat.

"Are you sure? We can drop you off at your house-"

"No, no," Elio waved his hand in the air, "it's fine, I can walk from here."

He opened the door carefully and got out of the car, peaking his head inside before closing the door, "thank you."

"No problem," Monty forced a smile.

I dragged my hands down my face as Monty drove off down the street.

"What?" Monty said.

"This is me...not blaming you for making it awkward."
