I woke up with Schubert gone. Probably a good thing, considering the fact that his being discovered with me, could end badly... I missed him though. Last night had been the best night I'd spent since coming to this dismal prison.
Von Steubon is a Hero
Well... to the Germans. Not to me. Some French people led a small uprising against the hotel turned prison. It was at night, in the dark.
They had shot the guards and were preparing to enter, but von Steubon's quick action led to the men being ordered to their positions, and he took a gun and, with some of his most loyal men, charged the rebels. They were easily shut down, but cruelly crushed. Like I said, von Steubon had my fear, but the evil man would never command my respect. Besides the increased respect of those who already respected him, the increased resentment from those who resented him, and the increased affection from Pirot, he has only earned himself a shot in the hand. One of those Frenchies got him after all. Good for them. The bastard deserved it.
