The Floor is Lava: Jeff

I stand on the couch opposite of Vinny and Evan, and Jeff is beside me.

"Careful," says Jeff, pretending to tip over. "Remember that the floor is lava."

"I know," I say.

"No you don't, you silly goose," he teases me.

"Oh my God, you two need to get a room," says Evan.

"We have a room," Jeff reminds him.

"Oh, right," Evan says, wiggling his eyebrows.

I roll my eyes at him. He smiles and then resumes playing the game of the floor is lava. I look at Vinny, and then I pick up one of the pillows on the couch. I then throw it at him, yelling "Yeet!"

"Hahaha! That's perfect," Jeff laughs.

Vinny falls into the floor lava. Now it's just us versus Evan. And now I'm concerned. Evan always finds a way to win these games, and this one is not an exception. He throws a pillow right at me, and I barely avoid it. But the next one that hits me, Jeff grabs my arm and pulls me away from the floor lava.

Vinny cheers Evan on.

"Get  'em, Ev! You got this!"

"You hear that? I got this," Evan says, giggling.

Jeff rolls his eyes at his friend. "Okay, we get it."

"Well I don't think you get it," Evan replies. He throws another pillow at us, and it hits Jeff in the face. I try to grab him, but he's down. Down in the floor lava.

"Go on without me!" he cries.

I do my best to not laugh at the dramatic way he said that.

Evan yeets another pillow my way, and I throw one right back. He is struck in the face by it, and I can't help but laugh like a madwoman.

"Ouch, that hit my face," he whines.

"So?"

He smiles viciously. This is his last pillow. But I have two left. I pick mine up, and while screaming "Yeet!" at the top of my lungs, I throw it at him. He is knocked down into the floor lava.

"Damn," Vinny says softly.

Jeff cheers and hops on the couch beside me, and he kisses me on the lips. "Nice job."

"I'm thinking that we need to do this more often if I get rewarded like that."

He smiles and giggles. "Amen."

"Again, get. A. Room."

"Stick in the mud," I say.

Evan flips me off. But the rest of us laugh.
