"I didn't realize you were going to throw a fit about it, otherwise I probably wouldn't have told you," Habit says.

"Okay, two things. First. Never say that to a woman. Second. Murdering people shouldn't be like a hobby, especially if you're trying to be good," I say.

"I didn't plan on killing him, it was me or him," he says.

"You or him. Right. So that's what happened when he was begging for his life?"

"He didn't beg for his anything."

"Habit."

"Did he really beg for his life? I wasn't paying that close attention to it," he says.

"Habit!"

"What?"

"Seriously?" I ask.

"Look, I've been a demon a long ass time. And if I were to give them all the satisfaction of knowing that their killer would remember their names, I wouldn't do it. There are some things that even I regret doing. But still, I have my reasons for doing what I do," he says.

"Okay, but next time, don't start the fight? Okay? Please?"

He sighs. "Will it make you shut up?"

I raise my eyebrows. He sighs again.

"I meant about the guy," he says.

"Fine. Yes, it will make me shut up."

"Good. Then that's what I'll do." He smiles. "Come on, y/n. The night is young. And we need to find ourselves a little action." He holds out his hand.

I take it.
