I've been out all day, working on getting groceries and all that lovely crappy stuff.

When I walk into the house, the others are in the kitchen instead of the living room. Weird, but not totally out of character for them. I walk over and hug Evan from behind, smiling.

"You miss me?" I ask them.

Jeff shrugs as he plays on his phone. "Eh. Evan's been blabbing about you since you left, so, yeah."

"He has, has he?" I wink at Evan as he sighs in frustration.

"Yeah, I guess so," Evan says. He looks at me. Then he swears under his breath.

"What?" I ask, as Vinny helps me put groceries away.

"Well, he sorta put a knife through the wall," Vinny says.

"You did what?" I ask.

"There was a spider!"

"A spider ... "

"Oh, don't worry, I got it," Evan says.

"Um, can someone please clear this up for me?"

"Yeah," Jeff says. "Evan, Vinny, and I were in the living room when a giant spider came crawling on the wall and Evan freaked out, yeeted a knife at the wall, and it stuck."

"And it killed the spider," Vinny adds.

I can't help it. I burst out laughing. Evan raises his eyebrows at me, looking genuinely curious. But I can't stop laughing for about thirty seconds.

"I'm sorry, but I think that's funny as all hell," I say.

"You do?" Evan asks.

"Yep," I say.

"You're the best," he says.

"Thanks, I try."

"Okay, so are we going to eat or something?" Jeff asks. "I'm starving."

"Okay, will do," I say. "Let's get some food."
