A/N: I'm gonna start putting my authors notes at the top of each chapter because I feel like no one ever reads them ): I know they're not important most of the time, but yeah. Anyway, THIS IS THE THIRD UPDATE that I've posted in like, a week. I blame it on not being motivated enough to do my homework instead. I think this chapter is pretty important, and I really hope you like it. I hope everyone is doing alright during this quarantine! If you need to talk to anyone, let me know! Anyway, I hope you enjoy! Don't forget to vote and comment your thoughts! Love you guys so much!

-Louis' P.O.V

I let out a shaky breath as I approached my dad's house, the one who raised me. You know, Joe. I spotted both his car and my uncle (?)'s car, so I knew they were both there. I turned the ignition of my car off and stepped out of the vehicle, going up to the door. I knocked three times on the door and just waited there. I got really impatient after waiting a full five minutes, and I was ready to turn around and just go home, but of course as I made that decision, the door opened.

"Son," Joe said with little to no emotion in his voice. "Where's that feline of yours?"

"He's safe at home with our kids. I'm not here to talk about that. I'm here to get the truth from you, even if that's something you really lack skill for," My 'father' let me inside wearily. My 'uncle' sat on the sofa with a beer in his hand, three empty ones already sitting on the coffee table.

"So, what brings you here, Louis?" I sat on the recliner across from my uncle/dad and sucked in a deep breath.

"I had a very strange encounter with my daughter's father today. You know, Jeremy? The one that you both are very well aware of his presence. You both know damn well that he isn't dead and that he hasn't been for eight years, like I thought," I cleared my throat. "Let's start there. He told me a lot of interesting things today, but I think him being a live really tops a lot of what I have to say today,"

"So, you came all this way to talk about why your husband is still alive"

"Partially, yeah. Why would you threaten my family, my daughter?" I looked right at Joe.

"It was either get that little girl away from you and go with him or keep her with you. When he told me that he refused take your daughter from you, I threatened him. I told him to leave and to never return, and so, I helped a bit come up with the idea of dying. It was the most believable. Clearly, that worked," I didn't mean for my emotions to get the best of me. I didn't mean for a tear to go down my cheek.

"How could you do that t-to me?" My voice cracked. "Your son?" I sniffled as my lip trembled more. "Y-You knew how much I loved him. Y-You saw how much I couldn't handle e-even looking at my child because she reminded me so much of h-him. I cried for w-weeks. Hours and hours a day were s-spent crying. Whenever I wasn't attending Adrianna, I c-cried," I gripped the arm of the seat I was in due to how emotional I was. "I came o-over here every day because y-you helped me g-grieve. You kept telling me e-everything was going to be okay. You gave me s-so much hope," When I focused on my 'father's' face, I couldn't help but notice a small tear on his cheek. "A-And I find out that you l-lied to me," I bit my trembling lip to try and get it to stop. "I couldn't breathe when t-thinking of him, Dad," That was the first time that I've called him dad in a long time. Should I wait to bring that conversation up? My 'father' sat down in front of me, taking my hand in his. I haven't been this close to him in years. He looked over his shoulder to get my 'uncle' to leave the room, in which he did and went upstairs.

"Son," I was surprised that I let him hold my hand the way he was, both of his larger hands around the two of mine that were folded.

"I-I hate you. I hate you for what y-you put me through," Joe looked down in... shame?
