Harry and I were discharged just a few days after being in the hospital. Well, Harry was. My injuries were worse than his, so I was discharged a couple days after him. We were home now for a week, just trying to relax. Alex has been so helpful with the kids, and she came over every single day and stayed longer than she needed to. She wanted to help the best she could and helping with the kids was the biggest help of all. Two crippled parents taking care of three children wasn't easy. Harry and I were both lucky because our injuries weren't awful, and we luckily could get our casts off in six weeks. The thing hurting and bothering me the most were my ribs. Harry was struggling with moving around and all that considering he had casts on both his arm and leg. He was using a wheel chair when he had to move, which wasn't easy either. It was difficult for him to use the leg wheel with just his fingers peaking out of the cast, so I often managed to help. With Alex there, she helped him and I too. She refused to let me pay her extra.

She just walked in the house after dropping the kids off at school. It must have been raining as she was a bit wet. Elizabeth was obviously still home since she wasn't in school yet. She was sitting in front of the coffee table in front of me, coloring a picture for Harry. Her ears were flattened as she concentrated he tongue poking out slightly. When Alex came inside, she sat down next to me on the couch.

"Need anything?" She asked.

"Nah, I'm good. Thanks though," She averted her attention to Harry.

"Harry, need anything?" She asked him. He looked over from the TV and to our friend.

"I'm good, thanks," He said with a smile. She went over to my little girl, and placed her hands on her shoulders, looking down at her as Lizzie looked up, a smile on her face.

"How about you? Need anything?" She asked, kissing her fuzzy ears. Lizzie giggled and turned around, hugging Alex.

"Can I have some chocolate milk?"

"Of course. Wanna help me make it?" She smiled big and nodded, following Alex into the kitchen. I looked over at Lizzie's drawing, smiling softly at the flowers she was supposedly drawing. When the girls returned, Lizzie had a sippy cup in her hand and a pack of fruit snacks, sitting back down at the coffee table to finish her drawing.

"You sure you're good?" Alex asked, sitting next to me again.

"Yes, I'm sure," She leaned her head on my shoulder. "Thanks for doing all of this. I truly appreciate it,"

"No need to thank me," She said. "I love this family almost more than my own. I'd do anything for you guys," I smiled gratefully.

"I know, and you're just as much apart of this family as the rest of us," She just smiled.

Elizabeth stood up from the floor and ran over to Harry.

"Here Dada!" She said excitedly, handing the drawing to him. He smiled from ear to ear.

"Oh darling, I absolutely love it. This is beautiful,"

"I wanna make one for Daddy too,"

"Alright, go ahead," Harry told her. She ran back to the coffee table and pulled out another piece of paper, starting on another drawing.

"Have you heard anything from the police yet?" Alex asked.

"Nope. They went to see my dad yesterday, but he kept saying he didn't know what they were talking about, but they called his bluff. They're still interrogating him,"

"And you're certain it's him?" I nodded.

"Who else would it be?" She shrugged. "I just don't want whoever that was to come here, where I've got three kids, two of which are already terrified,"
