Chapter 23

Jimin had taken away the dating ban because of course even he knew it was total bullshit.

So you continued to date Taehyung. But his visits to the office were rare now. Their meetings were cold.

Deep down you knew you were the cause for all of this. And Jimin's harsher treatment towards you made it more clearer.

"Tae...." You trailed off because you didn't know how to continue the conversation.

"Hmm?" He looked up at you blankly from the video game.

"You and Jimin.... everything's okay right?" You noticed his hands clutching on to the controller a bit tighter than before.

"What do you mean?" He paused the game.

"I me-mean it's not my place but you and him are still friends and everything, right?" You were starting to stutter now that he was looking straight into your eyes.

"We were never that close okay. Just acquaintances." He smiled and went back to game.

"Really? I thought you both were really close." You asked surprised.

"Nah. We have known each other for a long time. But we are too different from each other to be called friends. Our parents were close, that's it."

"Hmm. Also why don't you come by the office like you used to nowadays?"

"Well, I will do that when he decides to stop acting petty."

You couldn't really say anything to that. Jimin.was.petty.all.the.time.

"You don't like Jimin, do you?" He quickly questioned you.

"Wh-what? No.. no way."

"Hmm. Because if you do...." , he looked straight at you, ".... just remember that I'm taller than him." He chuckled.

You laughed too. His jokes were getting a little out of hand. Phew.

"These are the files." You said getting a glare from Jimin for not saying "Sir."

He had a different hairstyle today which showed most of his forehead. His dress also seemed more casual today. The first few buttons of his shirt were undone.

"Get these done too. Quick. It's already three."

'So what if it's already three?'

You were sitting on your desk when a lady walked upto you. A pretty lady. She smiled at you and asked you if Jimin was free.

"Mam, do you have an appointment?"

"Oh yeah, Kim Miyeon."

"Oh yeah, sure. Please." You pointed towards the door."

She was pretty and sweet too which makes her charismatic.

You finished the files and went to Jimin's office. It was like Deja vu. Oh wait! It had already happened once. Only this time the girl was sitting on Jimin's lap and they were too close. So close that it was unbearable for you to watch.

But unlike last time, Jimin didn't even seem to be bothered or embarrassed of you being there. He kept flirting with her and whispering something in her ear. One of his hand was stroking her back while the other held her face lightly.

And you didn't want to notice all this. But you had eyes. And that's their job. You could close your eyes but you didn't want to trip like last time.

"Sir, can I go?"

"Yeah. You can leave." He said not even taking eyes off the girl.

This is not something new to you. You knew what his character was. But everytime feels like the first time.

And that's when it hit you! Maybe it lingered inside you for a while. Here and there. But that moment was the exact one where you faced it.

You quickly left and took a taxi.

Your heart was beating heavily.

'No, it can't be true. That doesn't make any sense.'

You went to his company and asked for him. His young receptionist showed you the way.

You opened the door and saw him sitting there on his desk.

He looked surprised to see you there. He got up and came towards you.

You couldn't talk.

You quickly hugged him tight. He was surprised. You both stayed like that for sometime.

"What happened?" He said finally while stroking your hair gently. A part of him knew what was about to come.

"Tae..." You looked at his eyes. You knew it would break his heart. But it was better than hurting him continuously. He didn't deserve that. He deserved better.

"I like Jimin..."

"I know."
