Fiona rushed down the stairs pulling a jumper on. The four of us ran out the back door, snow stuck to the ground. I hugged my arms in the cold air.
We run out the garden, take a left and ran down the street towards the utility pole that Hector had shut off, Fiona ran ahead of us, "Hey Hector. Is there any way you could- -?"
"I can't this time, Fiona. Third red notice this year. I'm sorry," He said as we all reached him. I shrugged, "Not the first time we got shut off. Won't be the last."
"Is there any way you could scrape the money together today?" Hector asked. "We have it. She just forgot to pay it," Debbie stated. Fiona sighed, "I took an extra shift yesterday and I just spaced it."
Hector nodded, handing Fiona a slip of paper, "Call my cell when you pay, I'll swing back at the end of the day." We began to walk away, "Thanks, Hector."

Back inside, I help Fiona to make lunches, cutting the crust off of bread. Carl is in front of me, he's supposed to be eating his cereal but instead, he's colour coding the fruit loops. Someone knocks at the front door, Debbie hops off her chair and goes to answer it.
"Carl, eat. Stop organising okay? They all come out one colour anyway," I tell him, he huffed and ate his food. Debbie walks back into the kitchen, "Who was at the door?" Fiona asked. "Warren for Lip."
Fiona turns to Ian who was taking things out from the fridge, "Don't worry about the ketchup, just the milk and meat so it won't spoil," She told him. He nodded and got back to it.
Steve skipped down the stairs with wet hair, "Enough hot water for at least one more shower," he smiled walking into the kitchen and leant against the counter beside the sink. "Did Carl blow up the neighbourhood again?"
"No, I forgot to pay the bill," Fiona scoffed at herself. Steve's shoulders fell, "Hey...happens to the best of us." Fiona shook her head, packing the sandwiches into brown bags, "Not to me, okay? I'm not like this."
"Like what?" Steve asked I glanced at him knowing he was just going to irritate her more. "Distracted."
"Yeah, by what?" he pushed. "Well, you're the only new thing in the mix..." Fiona shot him a glare. "Wait, am I actually distracting Fiona Gallagher? Really?" Fiona pushed past him to grab the coffee pot.
When she saw it was empty, she freaked a bit, throwing her arms up. Steve took the coffee pot off her, "I-hey! I will make a coffee run after I finish," he reassured. Fiona nodded slowly, "Fine, time for school, okay?"
She looked up, "Lip, feet on floor!" she yelled. I grabbed the lunches and packed them in our bags.
