Monica kept her offer and took me and my twin to an LGTB night club. Purple lights flashed and electronic music bounced off the walls as we walked in.

"Me and Bob used to come here, it's a great mix of gay, lesbian, bi and cool breeders," Monica told us, holding both of our hands as she practically dragged us inside.

She glanced back at me, "Hey Alyssa, baby, why don't you experiment with a girl, it opened up a whole new world for me!" I stared at the back of her head in confusion, "Um..."

Ian saved me and cut in, "It's a little weird being out with you," he confessed as we stopped walking and looked around. "No shame baby!" she chirped, "Oh but Ian, don't even think about coming out at school, somebody in that neighbourhood will knife you."

"Think we'll get carded?" I wondered, glanced at the bouncers by the doors and then at the bartenders. Monica shook her head, "Nah, you two are the bread and butter here, they need fresh meat to keep old guys coming in," she explained.

"Oh, three o'clock!" Monica pointed off into the crowd, "That guy is totally checking you out, babygirl." I followed her hand until my eyes landed on a guy about 3 times my age who was staring.

I frowned at my mother, "You're kidding right."

"Shit, nine o'clock!" She moved her arm to point in a different direction, this time, the guy looked like he was in his late twenties at least, handsome but he was staring in some pervy way.

I chuckled and shook my head at her efforts. Monica faced me, "That kind of takes your mind off the kid in juvie, right?" she asked, her eyes twinkling in the vibrant lights.

I looked down, "He's in there because of me," I shrugged. "Aly, that's not true," I heard Ian say at my side.

My mom wrapped her arms around my shoulders, "I'm sorry you're hurting baby," she consoled, placing her palm on my cheek. She glanced between Ian and I, "Wanna dance?"

They both stared at me and after a few moments, I reluctantly smiled and was pulled to the dancefloor  immediately, "Okay, okay!" Ian nodded, already swaying to the music.

The fun didn't even when we got home, the three of us stumbled through the back door to find the same group of people who had been here a few nights ago sitting at the kitchen table.

"Hey, you guys!"

We walked through to  the living room where Frank stood with Estefania. Monica went to Frank's side and put her arm around him, "Who's this?" she wondered, leaning up to kiss Frank.

"That is Steve's wife," Ian told her. Monica's jaw dropped in realisation, "Oh, the Brazilian!" The front door flew open and Debbie, Carl and little Hank strolled in.
