Fiona, Ian and I were in the kitchen, I sat next to Ian at the table, drinking my second cup of coffee.
Lip walked in and glared and me and Ian before going to get himself a drink. "You guys still not talking?" she asked in disbelief, none of us answered.
We suddenly heard a yell and watched our little brother fall from the laundry shoot and thump hard against the floor. "Dude!" Lip yelled.
I gasped, "Carl!" Ian shook his head, "What the fuck." Carl pushed himself to his feet with a groan, "Holy crap, why haven't I done that before?" he swayed.
"You have too much time on your hands, next year, summer school!" Fiona muttered, grabbing Carl's face, "How's your head?" she asked, examining his head. "Little dizzy," he mumbled.
Fiona pushed him away, "You're fine, go have some breakfast," she told him. Carl wandered over and took a seat beside me. "How much in the winter squirrel fund?" Lip asked Fiona, standing beside her at the kitchen counter.
"Just over nine grand," Fiona stated. I stared at her, "That's all we have to get us through winter?" I questioned. Fiona shrugged, "Frank screwed us when he gave Liam away, then there was that new compressor fridge."
"The stuff for Liam's infection," Lip said, moving over to kiss Liam on the forehead before taking a seat in front of me. "Everyone needs to get winter jobs," Fiona informed us. She walked over to the bottom of the stairs and yelled, "Debs, get down here breakfast!"
"I'll be right there!"
Fiona began handing out cash to each of us, "School supplies and clothing, nothing else," she explained, "No candy, drugs, beer or concert tickets and I want receipts."
The downstairs bathroom door opened, "What if the drugs are really good?" Jasmine walked out with a smirk on her face. "You're still here?" Fiona asked, shaking her head at her friend. "I got caught up reading a magazine," Jasmine held it up.
Debbie who had come down, snatched the magazine from her grip, "Hey, that's mine!" she walked to the table and sat down opposite Carl.
Fiona pointed at Debbie, "Debs, I need you to find backpacks and any old school books," she told her, "Carl, put the daycare supplies in the basement," she pointed at him. They both nodded, "Okay."
Fiona placed a hand on her hip, "Lip, you and the twins can clean the pool, I think there's a few surprises for you." Ian rolled his eyes and sighed, "Carl, tell him he can do it himself."
"Lip, Ian says you can do it yourself," Carl muttered. Lip made a face, "Carl, tell Ian and Aly, they're being douche bags for not talking to me," Lip spoke in a mocking voice.
