We were at our bunks in the home, me and Ian sitting on the bottom of one while Lip was on top. "You've been in a group home before," Ian stated, "It's always like this?" he asked Lip.
"Nah, last place I was in was an actual home, this is more like a fucking labour camp," Lip explained before jumping down from the top bunk. He turned and looked at us, "Yo, give me your cash."
"What?" Ian puzzled. Lip widened his eyes at us, "Just give me your cash, now, come on!" he urged causing me to sigh and take out the money I had hidden in my bra and handed it to my older brother.
He put both mine and Ian's cash in his shoe before pulling it back on his foot. "Hey, Salvador, check it out!" A male voice said and I looked over to see two guys walking over.
The one who appeared to be the source of the voice pointed to his friend, "It's that chick from the movie Brave!" he laughed while pointing at me making me roll my eyes.
"She your girlfriend?" The one called Salvador asked Lip when they reached us. Lip shook his head, "No, sister actually, Alyssa. I'm Lip," he informed before gesturing to Ian, "This is Ian, look, we don't want any trouble, all right?"
Lip slipped Salvador some cash he had kept in his hand, "We're just passing through," he stated. "S'long as you show respect, you're gonna be fine," the other guy said before the two walked away.
Lip plopped down next to me and Ian on the bed and I turned my head to look at him, "You're like a fucking cockroach," I chuckled, "Able to live anywhere and feed off anything!"

We survived the first night and were now sitting at a table with trays in front of us which held some sort of mush to be considered breakfast.
I watched Ian pick at it with a grimace on his face, "What is this stuff?" he wondered. Salvador and his friend chuckled from the other side of the table, "It's pus from your mother's monkey, thought you liked the taste of that!"
Ian narrowed his eyes, "What is your problem, dude?" he scoffed. "Nick, Salvador, find another table!" D'Andre appeared behind the two boys, "Come on, chop-chop!"
They moved quickly and D'Andre sat down in front of us before placing paper on the table. "Proof of your employment came through, so you two go to work today," He looked between me and my twin.
"I need your employer to sign this, times in and out," he explained, "You two understand?" We nodded, "Yeah," I sighed.
"I'm actually pretty excited to get out there, start looking for work," Lip piped up from beside us. "Nice try," D'Andre frowned, "You have court-mandated community service hours you owe," he told Lip.
