"Stop!"

The first thing I hear is a scream.

The second is a laugh.

Then pain flashes through my cheek.

"You wanted him to wake up", I hear a raspy voice. "Stop hurting him!", another - panicked - voice says. Ariana.

I slowly open my eyes and see a pair of grey eyes looking at me amused. "And we've got him back", the creep smirks.

"Luke!", I hear Ariana shout. "Oh my god, are you okay?!"

What happened? Where is she, I can't see her.

The man takes a few steps back and I find Ariana sitting behind him, tied against a chair.

"She insisted that you're in the same room", he grins. "You can have a little chat while I get myself a beer."

He walks over to the door and turns around again. "Will you please tell me where the beer is, baby?", he smirks.

What the fuck did he just call her? I need to get out of here. I need to fucking murder this bastard.

"Find it yourself", Ariana spits and he furrows his eyebrows. "Feisty, huh? Don't worry, I'll find it."

He leaves the room and Ariana looks at me worried. "Are you okay? I came back and you were just.. You just passed out while we were outside! I nearly got a heart attack, I thought I lost you, I thought..", she starts crying.

"I'm okay", I mumble. My head hurts like hell but I guess that's not that much of a problem, compared to the situation we're in.

"He nearly killed you!", she keeps crying. "I've never been so scared in my entire life!"

"Don't worry, you won't get rid of me that easily", I say. "I couldn't just die, you know? What would've happened to you? I won't let him touch you."

"You know you can't do anything against it", she says quietly. "I'm scared, Luke. I don't want him to do this."

She sniffs and I ball my fists. I need to stop him.

"I'll get us out of here", I promise. "I've got a plan. I hope it'll work."

"What plan?", she asks confused. "To get us out of here." I lower my voice.

"I wrote 'Help' onto the bathroom window.. Someone has to see it, I'm sure."

"With what?", she asks with wide eyes. "My blood", I shrug. "What?!", she shrieks. "Oh my god, Luke! Are you crazy?!"

"I guess so", I reply. "But if it will get us out of here, it's worth it."

"Where did you get the blood from?", she asks in shock. "I cut into my arm with your dad's razor blade. I had to do that anyway, remember our deal? You cut, I cut. And since yesterday I know that you've been cutting the entire time so.."

"I hate deals", she frowns. "You should've never done that! All deals that have something to do with you are shit."

"I don't think that's the topic", I say. "You're right..", she sighs. "The topic is how on earth am I gonna get you out of this?"

"Stop worrying about me", I roll my eyes. "I don't give a shit about what's happening to me."

"And that's the problem", she gulps. "You said a few stupid things earlier. Do you have any clue how scared I was of losing you?!"

"Do you know how scared I was of losing you?!", I reply. "I did this to protect you!"

"Why?", she asks quietly. "Because I fucking love you, get that into your head!", I shout.

"What's it with that shouting?", I hear the man yell. "Shut the fuck up if you're not gonna tell me where the beer is!"

"We don't even have any alcohol", Ariana says quietly and I look at her surprised. "But I won't tell him that. He's stupid enough to keep searching."

"We will get out of here without getting hurt, I promise", I say. "I won't let him touch you. I love you. I swear I do."

"I know..", she whispers and my eyes widen.

"Today proofed that you love me", she says quietly. "I'm sorry for not believing you but now I know you'd really do anything for me. You'd do as much for me as I'd do for you. You love me."

She finally believes me! She finally sees the truth! And she still loves me, can everything be like it used to be?

"I do", I nod. "And finally you get it."

We stay quiet for a while, just listening to the man trashing her house while cursing from time to time.

"Can I ask you something?", Ariana then says. "Anything", I reply. "Why did you come to my house? Why did you take the spare key?"

"I finally put all the missing puzzle pieces together", I tell her. "And I panicked, thinking that he might be here right now. Well, I was right."

"So you knew what you got yourself into?", she questions and I laugh quietly. "No, I thought I'll come in here like Superman and save the day. That was harder than I thought."

"You shouldn't have come", she whispers. "I tried everything to keep him away from you. I made sure to never mention him. And then I started talking at night and ruined my own plan."

"Did you know all along that he was outside of your house? In the Range Rover?", I ask and she slowly nods.

"He was also in front of my house", I say and her eyes widen. "What?!"

"I always got confused but I was too stupid to get it", I sigh. "I should've stayed away from you", she panics. "You should've stayed away from me. What did I think? I should've pushed you away!"

"No", I say calmly. "This shit is worth all the times I spent with you."

She doesn't even listen to me and keeps talking about how stupid she was until I suddenly hear something.

"Ariana", I whisper but she doesn't stop talking. "Ariana!"

"What?", she asks, then her eyes widen. "Sirens", she breathes out.

At that moment something falls onto the ground downstairs and most likely shatters to pieces.

"Fuck!", I hear the creep shout. "He's coming back", Ariana says scared.

"Everything will be fine. We're nearly-" I'm interrupted by people shouting.

Before any of us can actually realize what's going on a man enters the room.

"They're here!", he shouts and takes his gun down. "Don't worry", he then says to us.

"You're save now."
