Alex's POV
"Alex!" I heard Mom shout from the front of the tour bus.

"I'm where I usually am!" I shouted back from the mini music station as I was writing some lyrics down.

Well I guess it's been a while
Since I've seen the sunshine
Since I have smiled
And me, who's so well versed
Is feeling so damn empty
Is at a loss for words
Forgot what it's like
To just feel okay
I'm praying for the day
When there is no more rain

I quietly sang the first part I had written down.

"What ya doing?" Mom asked as she came over to me. She sounded like one of those annoying siblings.

"Stuff." I replied nonchalantly. I flipped over the page. "Fuck! Paper cut!" I screamed. "Mommy! I got a boo boo!" I fake whined and pouted as Mom was filming.

"My poor baby. The struggles of being a songwriter." Mom joked back. She grabbed my hand and kissed where I got the paper cut. "Better?" She asks.

"Yep!" I laughed and continued my writing.

"I've been meaning to ask.. did you eat at least half of your breakfast this morning?"

"Yes, I did." I sighed.

"Are you telling the truth?" Mom stares directly at me. I stare directly back.

"Yes. You can even ask Aunt Dallas."

"Next question."

"What is this? An interview?" I joked.

"Yep!" Mom joked back. "Did you have any nightmares last night?"

"Nope." I quickly lied and looked away. Mom surprisingly believed that.

"Today we're going to the recording studio before we leave Texas." Mom said playing with my hair.

"Why?" I asked looking at Mom.

"You remember that song you wrote.. that you always wanted to record, but needed another person to sing it with?"

"You mean My Oh My?" I asked excitedly.

"Yes! Her name is Kenzie, she's 15, older girl." Mom explained and smirked at the last part.

"Yay! I'm so excited!" I squealed and hugged Mom.

"We're leaving soon, so get ready." Mom ordered.

"Mom, wait!" I said stopping Mom before she walked away. "Can I talk to you about something later?" I asked nervously.

"Of course, baby. Now get ready." She said before walking away.

" She said before walking away
