Alex's POV
I woke up to someone knocking on our door.. at 8:30 in the morning! Who's up that early anyways?

"I'll go get it." I told Mom since she was up late putting up with me last night. I don't deserve her.

I ran downstairs and I almost fell. I have those Lovato genes. I opened the door and was greeted by one of my best friends from volleyball.

"ELLIE!" I screamed and hugged Ellie.

"ALEX!" Ellie did the same and I laughed.

"What's all this screaming about?" Mom asked as she walked downstairs, rubbing the sleep out of her eyes. It dawned on her once she saw Ellie at the door.

"Hi, Ms. Lovato!" Ellie smiled.

"Hi, Ellie!" Mom smiled back. "Please, call me Demi. I want to still feel young." She joked.

"Gotcha, Demi." Ellie laughed.

"Let's go upstairs." I suggested to Ellie. She agreed and we went up to my room.

"I missed you!" Ellie whined and pouted.

"I missed you more." I whined back and also pouted.

"Impossible!"

"So possible!" I replied.

"What have you been up to?" Ellie asked.

"Nothing much.. therapy.. and then more therapy. Did I ever tell you I DESPISE men?"

"I'm sorry." Ellie hugged me.

"Ellie.. can I be honest to you about something? Without you telling my Mom."

"Of course!" Ellie replied.

"I want to go out and drink. I want to drink my pain away." I talked quietly.

"My sister is going to a party tonight. She said there was going to be alcohol and asked if I wanted to go, since our parents are out of town. I can get us both in. You down?" Ellie asked as she was drawing a flower on her wrist with one of my markers.

"Yes! Thank you!" I practically screamed and hugged Ellie. "What time is it at?"

"Around seven-thirty tonight. I'll text my sister to pick us up here."

"Perfect! I think I can give an excuse to my Mom tonight." I smiled. The thought of my pain being numbed for just a couple hours makes me happy.

"Girls! Breakfast is ready!" Mom yelled from downstairs. I gulped nervously at the thought of food. I'm sure Ellie can eat my breakfast.

"I'll go get it." I told Ellie.

I walked downstairs and saw two plates. Mine had one piece of bacon, one egg that was cooked over easy, and a piece of toast. Ellie's plate had more than mine, it consisted of two pieces of bacon, one egg that was also cooked over easy, and two pieces of toast.

"Thanks, Mama!" I smiled at Mom, grabbed the plates, and went upstairs to Ellie. "You want mine? I'm not really hungry right now." I told Ellie. It's sad that lying is getting easier and easier now.

"Sure!" Ellie smiled and gratefully took both the plates. I grabbed Ellie's phone to play her music on my speaker. The first song that came on was Cool For The Summer by my Mom.

"You have my Mom's music on your phone?!" I laughed a bit.

"Of course! I have to support my best friend's Mom!" Ellie fought back and I continued laughing. She finished both plates of food and I brought them downstairs to the kitchen.

"You finished your breakfast?" Mom asked as I came down with two empty plates.

"Yep!" I smiled.

"I'm so proud of you!" Mom kissed my cheek. There's nothing to be proud of...
