Demi's POV
It's already been almost six months since Alex's death. Today's June 1 and it's 7:35 PM. In three minutes it'll be exactly six months. My mind just can't comprehend it. My family came over earlier today and we all went out to eat at Alex's favorite breakfast place from when she was younger, which was iHop. Wilmer tried to take off work, but they wouldn't let him. He should be home any minute now though.

"Hermosa! I'm home!" Wilmer shouted from downstairs as he opened the front door.

"I'm upstairs!" I shouted from Alex's room. Nothing changed from the last time she was in it, besides us taking the rope and the chair out.

"Why are you in here?" Wilmer questioned, even though he knew the answer.

"I miss her.." I whimpered as Wilmer came over and cuddled with me on Alex's unmade bed.

"I know you do, babe. We all do." Wilmer said, holding me and massaging my scalp.

"What time is it?" I asked quietly.

"It's 7:37, Hermosa." Wilmer answered after looking at his phone.

"One more minute.." I whispered. "Should I post something?"

"Only if you want." Wilmer told me. I nodded and grabbed my phone and scrolled through the pictures I have of Alex.

"Babe.." I looked up at Wilmer after I posted on Instagram.

"Yeah?" Wilmer looked me in the eyes.

"Can we sleep in here tonight?" I choked out.

"Of course, Hermosa." Wilmer replied.

"With Batman and Ella." I added last minute.

"Batman! Ella!" Wilmer called out in his sexy accent. You can hear them running upstairs because of their collars. I chuckled lightly as the tiny, fluffy dogs came in the room. Wilmer helped them up on the bed where they proceeded to lick our faces.

"Remember when we first started dating? How Alex always tried to get in between us because you were stealing me? At least she thought you were." I told Wilmer.

"Of course, I remember." Wilmer chuckled.

- FLASHBACK -

Wilmer and I were cuddling on my couch, watching crime shows when my eight year old daughter ran down the stairs and got up on the couch between us.

"She's my Mommy!" Alex exclaimed.

"I know that." Wilmer chuckled.

"Then why are you cuddling her?" Alex questioned.

"Because I love her very much." Wilmer answered, causing me to blush.

"I love her very much too." Alex stated as she climbed onto my lap.

"Aww, I love you guys too." I told them both as I held onto Alex.

"Do you love me more?" Alex asked, looking up at me.

"Yes, I do." I laughed as I looked at Wilmer. Alex smiled, feeling satisfied as she snuggled against me.

- FLASHBACK OVER -

"It's hard to believe it was six years ago." I told him.

"Time definitely goes by fast." Wilmer replied. I nodded as I gave Batman and Ella belly rubs.

"Does it ever get easier?" I asked Wilmer.

"Does what get easier?" Wilmer questioned.

"When will I not miss her as much?"

"You're always going to miss her, babe." Wilmer answered. "The more time goes on, the more all of this is going to feel normal." He told me sadly.

"So it gets easier?"

"Yes, it gets easier." Wilmer kissed the top of my head. Out of nowhere, my phone started to play Nightingale.

"What the fuck?" I questioned as I turned off my music.

"Maybe that's Alex leaving us a sign that everything is going to be okay." Wilmer suggested. I would like to say that's bullshit, but it actually seems believable. I then turned the song back on.

"You could be right." I smiled a bit at that. "Do you think she's up there talking to Mimaw?"

"I bet she is." Wilmer smiled.

"Alex is our nightingale." I said as I cuddled into Wilmer's side where I ended up falling asleep. Maybe everything will get easier eventually. If it does get easier, there's not going to be a day where I don't think of my baby.
