Alex's POV
"Mom! I'm going for a walk!" I shouted from the front entrance after sliding on a pair of converse. It was 8:00 PM and I just finished eating half of my dinner. I needed to purge it somehow without Mom finding out."Okay, baby girl! Be safe, don't talk to strangers, don't do drugs! Be back in less than an hour!" Mom yelled back.
"Yeah, yeah!" I laughed and ran out the door. I put in my earbuds and played my music. It consisted of Her Last Words, Skyscraper, High Hopes, etc. I walked down near the beach. It was so pretty at night. I took a photo of the moon overlooking the beach and posted it on Instagram.
I decided I finally needed to purge. I walked to a nearest trash can on the beach and stuck my fingers down my throat, causing me to gag and throw up all I ate. I wiped my mouth with a napkin and popped a mint in my mouth.
My phone was repeatedly buzzing in my pocket, which is when I realized I was gone for more than an hour. I pulled out my phone and called Mom back.
"Alex! Thank God you answered, baby girl." I heard Mom's worried voice speak through the phone.
"I lost track of time. The beach is just so pretty at night. I'm on my way back, I pro-" I was about to finish my sentence when someone spoke behind me.
"I finally found you." I heard a creepy, but familiar voice say. "Turn around, beautiful."
I slowly turned around to face him and I dropped my phone, seeing who it was. "A-Aaron? I-I thought you were in p-prison." I choked out.
"I was. Some buddies bailed me out. We're going to have fun with you." Aaron smirked.
"W-We're?" I asked nervously. Two more men came out of the bushes. I prepared myself for the pain that was about to come. All three of them started to beat me.
"Having fun?" Aaron asked as he hit me harder. "Joe can make you have more fun. Ain't that right, Joe?"
"Oh, yeah." Joe said sexually as he started to unzip his pants.
"N-No!" I screamed as my breathing quickened. "N-Not again! P-Please!" I begged as I cried. Before he could do anything, sirens were heard in the distance. A bunch of cop cars pulled up near us.
"Move one step closer, or the girl gets it!" Aaron yelled at the cops as he grabbed me and held a gun near my head. I saw Mom's car pull up and I saw her quickly get out, along with Max.
"Let go of my baby girl!" Mom shouted.
"Never!" Aaron held the gun closer to my head. One of the cops in front pulled out a pistol. The other two men ran while Aaron still held onto me. I let out a strangled sob, not wanting to know what would happen next.
"Put her down, and no one gets hurt!" The cop shouted.
"Don't test me!" Aaron shouted back. Aaron was about to shoot me but the cop was prepared. The cop pulled the trigger on his pistol and directly shot Aaron in the head. I screamed as I heard the bang and I fell to the ground. I wasn't hurt, just scared. They just killed Aaron. They killed my biological dad. He doesn't have the right to be called dad, even if he was my biological father.
"Alex!" Mom exclaimed as she rushed over to me. "Are you okay, baby girl?" Mom asked frantically as she checked over my body to look for marks. She gasped at the damage they did from where they all beat me up.
"M-Mommy!" I cried out as I wrapped my arms around Mom's neck and my legs around her waist. "H-He hurt m-me!" I let out a strangled sob as she held me in her embrace.
"Are you okay, miss?" One of the cops asked as he walked over to us.
"She's just shaken up. Can we talk about this tomorrow or something? My baby clearly doesn't want to talk about it right now." Mom said as I hid my face in the crook of her neck.
"I-I want to go h-home!" I said with mumbled yelling.
"We can go home, baby girl." Mom cooed as she got in the back seat of the car with me and Max got in the front to drive us home. I looked outside the car window and I saw the cops putting caution tape around the scene. I was still sobbing and freaked out when we got home.
"A-Are we home n-now?" I asked as Mom picked me up out of the car. I wrapped my legs around her waist again.
"We're home now, baby." Mom said gently as she carried me to her room, knowing that after what happened I wouldn't be able to sleep alone.
"I-Is it my fault?" I asked quietly as we were laying in bed.
"It's not your fault." Mom sighed quietly as she ran her fingers through my hair. "A-Aaron was just messed up.." She said as she stuttered at first.
"W-What about the guys who got away? W-Will they come back for me?"
"They won't come back for you. I'll protect you. The police are doing everything they can to track the other two down." Mom explained.
"Y-You said that last time.." I choked out. "H-He still got me.." I whispered.
"I wish I was there. I promise I'll be there to protect you, baby girl. I'll keep you safe." Mom said quietly. I nodded and got closer to her. She then started singing to help me fall asleep.
I tried to talk to my piano
I tried to talk to my guitar
Talked to my imagination
Confided into alcohol
I tried and tried and tried some more
Told secrets 'til my voice was sore
Tired of empty conversation
'Cause no one hears me anymoreA hundred million stories
And a hundred million songs
I feel stupid when I sing
Nobody's listening to me
Nobody's listening
I talk to shooting stars
But they always get it wrong
I feel stupid when I pray
So, why am I praying anyway?
If nobody's listeningAnyone, please send me anyone
Lord, is there anyone?
I need someone, oh
Anyone, please send me anyone
Lord, is there anyone?
I need someoneI used to crave the world's attention
I think I cried too many times
I just need some more affection
Anything to get me byA hundred million stories
And a hundred million songs
I feel stupid when I sing
Nobody's listening to me
Nobody's listening
I talk to shooting stars
But they always get it wrong
I feel stupid when I pray
Why the fuck am I praying anyway?
If nobody's listeningAnyone, please send me anyone
Lord, is there anyone?
I need someone, oh
Anyone, please send me anyone
Oh, Lord, is there anyone?
I need someone
Oh, anyone, I need anyone
Oh, anyone, I need someoneA hundred million stories
And a hundred million songs
I feel stupid when I sing
Nobody's listening to me
Nobody's listening"I love you.." I mumbled before falling asleep in Mom's embrace and smellinv her vanilla perfume.
