"Umm... Girls.. Cough* cough*.."
I coughed again.
More sickly this time and abruptly grabbed the creepy looking Zeno's ears. Kuro was genuinely shocked at my daring behavior.
"You've... got..to excuse us.. Umm.. And.. Bye-bye! "
I waved my hand grinning awkwardly as much as my mouth hurts and quickly dragged Zeno out of the group.
The two of us literally ran to escape from them dragging Zeno, as, just like people jealous girls are truly one of the most dangerous beings in the entire world. And, being Cinderella's stepsister, I knew that oh so well.
"T-That.. Was pretty dangerous.. "
Kuro let out a deep sigh.
"Ya.." I agreed and looked at the still half frowning half smiling Zeno..
This guy..
"Kuro, how do you manage him?.. "
Being the aide of an insensitive master who just cannot fully understand social situations like this.. I really wanted to know.
"Bad times.. Anastasia-samma.. Bad times.. Don't persuade further. "
He wiped the sweat rolling down his forehead.
I wrinkled my brows and sighed. Well, I can understand that..
"Zeno.. " I called him but, unlike us, it seemed like he was thinking totally different kind of thoughts as for a while he simply kept mumbling.
"Too bad.. It's not just the guys.. like.. Player Jack and the thugs from the wedding.. It's too dangerous.. It's too dangerous.. "
"Zeno.. " I called him again when Zeno spilled his thoughts unconsiously loud while holding my shoulders. He shook them wildly.
"The world is too dangerous for you, Anastasia!!! "
Ay.. E-Eh.. What..?
I cocked my head in confusion.
Has he finally lost it?
"And, I have to protect you from this world..! Or-Or.. I will lose you.. And.. And..! "
I abruptly caught his cheeks with my palms and pressed it.
"Hey.. Hey.. Zeno.. Calm down.. I am not gonna disappear.. And, so what if the world is dangerous? You know I am more fiercer tha that! .. " I grinned my teeth and look at him straight to his eyes as a smile slowly slides on his lips and his pupils becomes more tranquiler.
Kuro shook his head covering his face in a face palm.. "Gosh.. You are such a handful, boss.. "
"So, then.. you will always be my precious fiancee.. right? Anastasia? "Zeno asked hopefully.
My lips smiled at his loving question but soon they turned more forced.
I hesitated for a moment but, soon I exhaled and the words spilled out my mouth.
"Z-Zeno.. You can't keep calling me as a 'fiancee' forever..." I told him.
"B-But.. Why..? " he asked. His voice trembling a bit.
My gaze looked up from the ground I paniced instantly looking at his hurt expression.
He looked shocked at my words. And, honestly, it hurt just to look at him like that.. So, I couldn't say him what I really wanted to tell.. 'it's because, I am not your fated woman..and, I will not be with you forever.. '
As a result, I shut my lips and stood still..
I know, that Zeno has always taken pride in calling me as a 'fiancee' since the day we found that the two of us were actually childhood sweethearts who our mothers (being close friends just like us) had conversations to get us engaged.
