Merida's arm grabbed mine and pulled me away from that chaos with an extremely frustrated and annoyed face.
When, the three of us were in a safe distance she dropped my arm and glared at me.
I noticed the curly haired girl's face caked with thick make up for the dance. Her freckles had all gone. Her hair was pulled back in a thick ribbon. And, she had worn a traditional gown that flowed down her feet like a sparkling goddess.
Her heroine looks would have looked so ravishing when she was in this form if she was smiling. But, unfortunately she wasn't. She looked angry. More like angry with me.
And, I had no idea why. Just what did I do now?
My nose twitched in confusion.
"Merida.. What-"
"You!... were so quick when it comes to saving others from getting bullied.. But, why do you do nothing when it comes to you..?!"
She barked coldly.
"W-What..? I was getting bullied..?"
I couldn't understand what she was saying. But, what I did know was that Merida was misunderstanding something gravely.
"Merida.. It was not like that, I swear. That student was just curious about knowing a few things about me. That's all.."
"Then, why did you look like that, Rottenstein..? You were obviously uncomfortable when she spoke like that.. Right? If you weren't why did you look so scared at that time..?"
It was Alice who spoke these words to me now. I didn't notice before, but she looked equally annoyed like Merida. She didn't say much. But, by the tone she had used, I could get a little glimpse about her feelings
It's because I did feel very uncomfortable at that time...
"It's alright, guys. It's not something to worry about. Plus, Margrett spoke to me very sweetly. It was only me who felt like that. I cannot blame her. I am just bothered about how she would feel now especially when everyone spoke-"
I tried changing the topic when Merida suddenly exploded.
"What is wrong with youu?? Have you ever thought about the possibility of her actually saying those things on purpose?? People with snake like personalities..?? Wenches with a honey tongue but are filled with filthy intentions..???"
"....."
I looked at her abruptly.
I didn't say anything back.
There was an awkward pause on the atmosphere and my mind was a loud as ever with many thoughts.
What..?
She might be doing those things on purpose? That friend of Juliet..?
How come..? And, why..?
I could guess why though. But, I just could not understand how those simple words could be called as bullying.
"I cannot understand it. Margrett was so nice to me when we spent time with Juliet earlier too.."
"But, she.."
Alice tried speaking but, stopped abruptly when she heard my next low pitched introspecting mumbling.
"She didn't throw garbage at me and call me rotten.. My back wasn't pasted with the 'kick me' sign like it was last semester. And, she didn't even come in groups to attack me by grabbing my hair and calling me mean words like a wench, bi***, ugly sl*t.. for being with Robinhood..."
