The Next Morning:

"One!"

"Hey!"

"Two!"

"Ho!"

"Aha....Annnnnd! Here we goo!"

"Threeeeeee!"

The long brass 'Dayakatti*' dice owned by Merida flew on the air by her light thrown as the two of us waited curiously for it formidable result.

"Please, let it be 3...Please, let it be 3!"

I squeaked rubbing my arms in a prayer.

"Wait... For it.. And...!"

Merida cried looking at the flying dice.

"The results are up there, guys."

Alice said looking at the 'actual' notice board that would publish our results in magical lights along with the crowd of the other Fairy Knight students, unlike us, the delusional duos.

The fireworks blasted on the air, the cheers of the excited students echoed around us and there were different responses the moment, the team names appeared.

"Unbelievable..

We.. Passed.. Rottenstein.."

Merida exclaimed in a dazed half teary expression half holding my arm.

"We.. Passed! Though, we barely made it."

"And, the number the dice rolled is three!"

I yelled patting Merida's arm and took the 'Dayakatti' dice from the ground in excitement.

I showed it towards the sun. And, The brass with light sparkled like a brilliant piece of gold.

"But, why three..? Because, the number is lucky ?"

Alice asked to me.

"No, Because, it's my favourite number."

I answered blankly without thinking much.

At this, I noticed Alice cough abruptly with an awkward expression looking aside. I couldn't understand what she was thinking. But, with that crazy struggling-hard-to hide smirk that hung on her face, I was sure she was mocking me.

And.. So, in that manner.. we discovered that we had passed the first stage of our exams with flying colors.

Around us, I noticed many despondent faces of people who did not pass the exams.

I was genuinely glad we weren't like them.

The time we discovered our previous '0 points' was last noon. Excluding the time we spent the night on the cave, we had solid 24 hours for completing our hunt.

It is almost impossible for any other team to have made such a fast upgrade on grades. But, I confess, We would have been one among those disqualified groups too if it weren't for the quick last minute plans we had made with help of Alice's major contribution.

Well, the good thing really is.. We passed. Though we only did, with the borderline marks.

I humped and mentally added to my mind to put double the efforts on the second stage of the tournament.

I took a deep breath and looked around our surroundings.

We were currently on a cliff now after days that took us to reach here.

"Woww..!"

"Look at the little village!"

"The fluffy sheep out there are so cute!"
