Chapter 14
Adrenaline
"I reserved at Xylo! That's your commitment minsan lang ako nandito sa Pilipinas kaya pumayag ka na!" pagmakakaawa ni Aiana rito sa harap ng lamesa ko.
I rolled my eyes and turned to my computer, "Yes, I know." Pasalamat siya at wala akong meeting abroad this month kaya sigurado na makakapunta ako sa kung saan man ang yaya niya.
She visited my office for the first time. And I could say that she's very amused and mesmerized because of the glass windows in the right side of this room overlooking the city. Plus, the office is huge for a new employee, like me.
"Siguro ka ba na hindi ikaw ang may ari ng kompanya na ito?" she said, still couldn't believe that it's my office.
"Oh how I wish, Aiana!" I sighed.
Who are you kidding?!"
"Nagkataon lang na kailangan noon ng may ipapalit agad sa posisyon na 'to, and there they found me! Hindi naman sila nagkamali..." I twisted my lips suppressing a smirk. So not really a big deal."
"And you are now working under the executives?! You are part of internal management at a young age! You must be very smart, hindi ka naman ganiyan noong high school!"
"I don't care, anyways. If they are doing their job excellently 'di sana napromote rin sila." I said, convinced at my own remark.
I'm not oblivious when it comes to gossips here in our company. And I get it, I'm very young to promote in this kind of position the reason why they are making conspiracy theory about my instant promotion! But I know the truth, I deserve this promotion because I've done my job with passion and excellence. Fortunately, the bosses weren't just blind to see that.
Kailangan mo rin mag-loosen up, girl!
I uttered in sarcasm.
"Siyempre hindi ako nagkukulong sa opisina 'no. There's a wild world that awaits for me outside my office!"
"Excuse me, bihira lang din ako rito sa opisina dahil may mga seminars o di kaya'y meeting ako na pinupuntahan sa ibang bansa 'no..." my voice trailed off, "'tsaka I party sometimes, you know. And hook up," sabi ko sa maliit na boses. It's true, I need to satisfy my needs as a woman as well!
"Seriously!? So you have had sex!?"
"Lower your voice, Aiana..."
