"I believe you know the reason why I called you here Miss Carlson"
"Yes Sir." I replied meekly, without looking up.
"Miss Carlson, you went against school rules. Posting an explicit sexual video on the school's page is considered to be sexual misconduct and as such, as the principal, I'll have to punish you. In accordance to the school rules, you have been suspended for two weeks."

The drive home was a very quiet one. I could tell mum was very mad. I tried to break the silence but that was a bad idea.
"Mum, I'm-
"Save it, Jael. We'll talk about it at home."

I felt a tinge of pain in my heart. I was not the picture perfect person in the family. That was Jayson's scene. But I was surely not the trouble maker. That was Jayla's scene. I was the reserved one in the family, always on my phone. Checking out new findings and analysing theories especially in relation to the structure of the atom.

I just wanted for once to feel 'normal' , to fit in. I really don't know how Jayla doesn't date, doesn't drink, isn't promiscuous and yet she's always on top of her game.
The one time I try to explore and feel free, I get suspended for half of a month and I'm sure I'll be grounded for even more. My luck.

I wouldn't be surprised if the whole family got to know it by now. Given that Briarwood was owned by my grandfather, Mr. Whyte, yeah... that news had been circulated already.

But why did Mr. Lopez think I was the one that posted the video? I grabbed my phone and logged into the school's website. I was too shaken up when I saw the trending news list on the school's page, I didn't even watch the video.
That lousy weasel! He's so gonna get it from me. I can't believe he hacked into my account and posted the video. He made sure not a trace of his face was seen in the video. Oh, how I hate him!
My inner goddess screamed, ' We must revenge!'
'We sure will.' I smiled to myself as the perfect idea dropped into my mind.
Myles was right. Reserved people have the darkest minds.

Mum dropped me off at home.
"We'll talk when your dad and I get back from work. Young lady, know that you are in deep trouble and when I say deep trouble I mean it."

Jayson called.
"Jael"
"Let it all out." I remarked with a carefree spirit. I knew he was going to judge me just like Myles did.
"I didn't call to judge you. I just called reassure you that you're not in this alone."
"I love you Jason." I felt bad for being rude earlier. My siblings were the best. They always stood by me through thick and thin. Even when when everyone else looked down upon me at school and called me names. They never left my side and for that I'm grateful.
"I love you too Jael. But please don't let that happen again. Your body is the temple of God, don't forget that."

I stayed in my room for the rest of the day. Jayla went over to the Afro Praise Worship Centre. It was a small auditorium my mum put together for Africans living in Austin and Texas as a whole. They met on Wednesdays to pray and basically worship and all that boring stuff.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not an atheist. I believe someone or something started all this but why is he lurking in the dark? Why does he reveal Himself to us?
Besides, how do we know who he is? How are we sure He's the God the Christians believe in? How are we certain it's not the god of the Muslims or of the Hindus, or of the other idol worshippers?

I heard the sound of the door shut. Mum and dad are in. It is time for my crucifixion...
